July

It is hard to believe we are already halfway through

the year....

Flying Geese Quilt

This is what I have made so far!

My Gertie Marlane quilt (top right) is waiting to be hand quilted

Before I start machine quilting the flying geese quilt,

 (I need batting)

I delved into my extensive library and found this

book.

It is full of techniques and simple ideas.

This little zipper pouch is constructed in a different

way to the regular one found on tutorials,

and it worked out well.

I decided to make this pouch (below) to try out the

cork 'fabric' I had bought for another project but

didn't use.

I'm already planning another one or two.

Finally, an infinity scarf made from a piece of linen

lurking in the stash.

Now its time to get back to the quilting!

Happy days!

Love the colors of your flying geese. Me too, I am making zipper pouches at the moment. Have to get to the store to buy more zippers. They are such nice presents. Nice scarf!

Wow, you've been productive this year. Keep it up. I'm curious how you liked working with the cork fabric? It has a such a cool look but I don't think I've seen it in person yet. Then again I've been staying away from most stores lately in an attempt to use what I have.

You’ve been so busy! It looks like you know how to manage your time well. It’s fun to work with cork, isn’t it? I like how it adds a professional touch to a simple make. Hope you have more happy sewing moments ahead.

It's fun to see what you do with small bits of time, and small bits of fabric. That is a good-looking pouch (well, both of them are) and a very pretty scarf. Of course, though, I love seeing all those quilts!

Lovely bits'n'pieces, but I've never heard of cork fabric. The pouches would come in so handy. Look forward to seeing how you quilt the flying geese. Take care.

Looks like an interesting book... what other sort of projects are in it?
