Trixie Zip Pouches

I really should finish this quilt.

but I am not ready to commit all that time into

basting, quilting and binding in the lead up to

Christmas.

So I decided I wanted to make some

Trixie Zipper Pouches.

pattern available here, if you want to make one or

two or twenty of your own!

This fabric was gifted to me. It is gorgeous!

It takes more time to choose fabric, trim and quilt

the fabric than it does to construct them.

The last one took me a little over an hour to make!

And that's doing some final hand stitching inside

rather than forcing ten+ layers of fabric

through the machine and risking all sorts of mishaps!

I stopped, for the moment, at four!

Mr PnP went for a little road trip as soon as work

finished.

The silos north of Benalla had been on my 'must-see'

list for some time.

This beautiful painting (below) is in a church.

 in the town of Goorambat.

This one dedicated to those who have fought in wars.

And this one in honour of GJ Coles, the founder of

Coles stores here in Australia.

And this Christmas tree is tucked away in an alley in

Chiltern...

And one last thing...

a couple of Christmas decorations made using a free
tutorial from here!

They are by Amy at NanaCompany!

(thanks Debbie for pointing out the wrong link- all fixed now!)

I hope to be back with that one quilt finish before
2019 is over.
Until then, Happy Christmas from my house to yours.

Have I shown you these?

This is a bit of a summary of what I've been

sewing lately....

four more Boston Pavement blocks....

in a variety of prints and colours.

I've made twelve blocks now.

A little diversion of zipper pouch making....

and some pattern testing with these blocks.

"Whirligig"

So it looks like I've started another quilt!

Yes, green again!

I have a little boy in mind for this!

I wanted to use a blue and grey colour palette but I

just don't have that many blue fabrics.

So I'm doing a swap with Linda @Koka Quilts

These are what I am sending.

Go to Linda's blog and have a look at the beauties

she's sending me!

Until next time....

happy sewing!

July

It is hard to believe we are already halfway through

the year....

Flying Geese Quilt

This is what I have made so far!

My Gertie Marlane quilt (top right) is waiting to be hand quilted

Before I start machine quilting the flying geese quilt,

 (I need batting)

I delved into my extensive library and found this

book.

It is full of techniques and simple ideas.

This little zipper pouch is constructed in a different

way to the regular one found on tutorials,

and it worked out well.

I decided to make this pouch (below) to try out the

cork 'fabric' I had bought for another project but

didn't use.

I'm already planning another one or two.

Finally, an infinity scarf made from a piece of linen

lurking in the stash.

Now its time to get back to the quilting!

Happy days!
