Tuesday Treasure - Vintage Buttons

I love vintage buttons!

This collection I mainly inherited from my mother...

This beauty is about one and a half inches across...

And it looks like its made from glass!

I'm lucky to have two of them !

And I have at least 3 of these lovelies!

The two white ones pictured here I picked up from a second hand store recently!

A pretty flower and a basket weave- fab!

And this one would have adorned my father's uniform when he worked on the

Victorian Railways back in the 40's, I think!

You can just about make out the VR!

And a buckle from my school uniform back in the 60's!

Mum made all our clothes in those days!

(She even made my wedding dress nearly 30 years ago!)

And a few more of interest-

Which ones do you like? I'd love to know!

Linking up with Melody's Tuesday Treasures too!

Happy sewing!

They are all so lovely but the three black ones with a leaf on them are my favourite. What a great collection :)

Oh, I couldn't choose - I like them all. I'm not sure who ended up with my mother's collection - it was intended to go to my oldest daughter but I am not sure.

Buttons are the BEST! You inspire me to get out some of my special ones to share. Maybe next week or so.

Oh I love the little duck button! Was that from an outfit when you were little? I love buttons too! Thanks for sharing your collection.

I love them all and I really love the buckle. It would look nice on a bag with fabric threaded through it.

That black glass one is a beauty. You could make a very glamourous clutch bag closure with that!

All your buttons are lovely. My favourite is the little cream coloured flower with the lazy daisy petals. I like the way some of them hold memories like photos.

I love vintage buttons, the bakelight ones really appeal to me, they're the ones I get to use. I have a collection I inherited too.
