It's my .....

Blog-anniversary!

Yes, it's been one year since I started blogging and I haven't regretted it for one minute!

(I must declare -this wasn't my original 'home'; I did have another blog name for a few months to 'test the waters', as they say!)

I have made some wonderful friends...

And won some fantastic prizes!

So now it's my turn to 'share the love'!

Now I will be first to admit... I have lots of fabric.....nearly thirty years worth!

This is but a small sample!

But most of it is in odd bits and shapes and sizes...

What some quilters might call rubbish scraps!

So I have been cutting....

And cutting....(with my new ruler!)

And cutting...

And this is what I've come up with!

Two stacks of 5 inch squares....

(proviso: they are NOT laser/precision cut squares, my stash is nearly 30 years old, my eyes are MUCH older!)

The photo has 'washed out' the colours in some of the fabrics here.
One in a red/blue palette, one in 'Autumn' tones.

Each stack contains at least 15 different fabrics and weigh nearly 200 grams!

You don't need to jump through hoops to win, or to even be a follower!

( I never dreamed I'd have 60 followers by this stage, anyway!)

Please leave a comment telling me your favourite way to use scraps and which colour

palette you prefer.

Giveaway is open until Saturday, midday (Eastern Australian time) and I'll randomly draw the winners...

I'll post their names soon after!
(Comments are now closed...winner announced soon!)

ENJOY!

Congrats on the anniversary. I love the fabrics you have offered. I would have to choose the autumn stack. I sew from my scraps all the time. I love the look of multi-colored scrappy quilts. Here's to another good year.

I'm into the red/blue pallette, and I just got that new book "Natural Patchwork" and am planning to use up some scraps with some of those patterns! I think 5" squares are great - I just started my first quilt with a charm pack!

Happy Anniversary! I like the way you are sharing your precious 'vintage' stash! I love both colour stacks, though if I have to pick one it would be the blue stack. That would make a lovely wall hanging. Thanks for the chance. Enjoy your next year of blogging!

Well, you know me.... I'd have to make "something" for one of the little people in my life or perhaps a nice throw just for me!! or maybe another bag!! now, that would be nice! I love the red/blue theme,

So congratulations!

Happy Sewing,

I love scrappy quilts--I am certain tht is where they would go, if my daughter doesn't beat me to them first. Either color would be lovely (if you are shipping to the US that is). Congratulations--mine is coming up pretty soon, too.

Such pretty fabrics, congratulations on your anniversary. I found you via your scrappy stars tutorial so I would probably use them for a project like that. Both are delicious, but the red and aqua bundle is my favorite.

Such beautiful fabric - but I would have taken them without all the cutting. Love the blue/red and they would work up so pretty in a wonky star - being the centers.

Happy Blogiversary!!! What lovely stacks of fabric yumminess!! I'd have to toss a coin to say which colour I liked, both look wonderful. I have my scrap container under my cutting desk where I can see it and easily pull bits out. Sometimes I just sew them all together, I've made a few quilts that way. Mug rugs are good scrap busters too.

Suz - so hard to choose, but I absolutely love anything red so I'd have to go with that one. But oh, that autumn is luscious. Why do you make these decisious so hard?

Congratulations!! Thank you for the giveaway and for all the hard work cutting those squares - I love the look of the blue and red one. I love to use scraps in quilts - not very original I know but I have just been watching some of Elennor Burns videos on her website and one that I like is using 5" squares and I don't have enough scraps to start it yet! Best wishes C

Scrap quilts are my favorite. I have to say, between the two stacks, I would choose the red & blue palette, mainly because I love the fabric that's right on top...adorable!

Suz - if you are posting to the USA, then this is my entry. Congratulations on your anniversary. I like working with older fabrics and the red/blue charms. Thanks for sharing - know your fabrics will be so different from ours here. Would make a scrappy quilt, perhaps a baby quilt for our to-be-born grandniece. Thanks for the tour of your fabrics.

How nice of you to have a giveaway. I definitely like the autumn tones. I haven't done much with scraps yet. I am still building my supply but I really like crazy blocks with embellished seams. I would probably use the squares to make a table cloth.
