Do you knit?

Patchwork, Quilting and Blogging have been my main creative

pursuits for a while now...

But I do know how to knit...

In fact, this lovely wool has been waiting patiently for me all winter!

And I really think I will get to it soon, especially if...

I can find a suitable pattern!

I did manage this quick project.....

Can you guess what it is?

It's a scarf!  Well, sort of!

the perfect little piece of woolly cosiness to wrap snuggly around the neck

to keep out winter's chills!

I can see many more of these in my future!

And because I can.....

More fabric has been added to my stash!

Happy days!

The calm...

before the storm!

One last week of school term, punctuated by 2 nights of parent teacher

interviews until

9pm!

So I treated myself this weekend to....

some sewing-

The Twist and Shout quilt is finished!

While buying the binding fabric at my LQS,

I saw a quilt.....

This is NOT my quilt - but isn't it beautiful?

which has inspired me to use some of my favourite fabric.

I also finished up Helen's cushion....

simply quilted with some of my new Aurifill thread.

And I bought myself a copy of this....

Yes, I know - I am late to the Farmer's Wife craze,

but I just had to see what all the fuss was about!

I am playing with the idea of having some of these prepared for

short machine sewing sessions!

So when an hour of opportunity presents its self,
'
it won't wasted fluffing about, wondering what to do...

Choosing blocks and fabrics is the next step...

But that will definitely need to wait until the holidays!

Happy sewing!

(I have a couple of posts prepared given the busy week I'll be having!)

Playing Favourites

Welcome to our linky fabric party!

Mary @ Molly Flanders and I are celebrating all our favourite fabrics!

You know, those ones you hoard and covet and stash for very special projects!

So, let's party!

My first piece is......

Jennifer Paganelli of Sis Boom fame!

I've only ever had a fat eighth of this,

And it has always been used sparingly!

This fabric I know nothing about.....

Just that it has an owl in there somewhere?

This piece is awaiting a special project.

And many of my regular followers will be familiar with my love of all things French!

So Michael Miller's "Eiffel Tower" is definitely a favourite...

,

And this piece is severely mutilated through extensive 'fussy cutting"!

and I have a whole metre of...

"Paris Tea" by Holly Holderman for Lake House Dry Goods,

with my scissors waiting in anticipation!

Finally, this...

A William Morris print by Fabric Freedom.

Again, just a little piece stashed away waiting to loved some more!

Now it's your turn to share!

Mary and I are looking forward to seeing your 'best bits'

( I hope the linky works - its a first for me and the timing may be out a little!)

Not Much To Show...

...on WIPS Wednesday!

After finishing "A Dog's Breakfast" the motivation to start something new hasn't

hit yet!

So I have worked some more on this....

Twist and Shout is nearly quilted!

And this....

A pillow is taking shape!

Don't forget to pop back at the end of the week to share your best bits!

We're Having A Party!

(I wanted something pretty to entice you to my party!)

...a favourite fabric 'linky ' party!

Mary @ Molly Flanders  and I were talking about how we both stash our

favourite fabric and only use it for very special projects!

Even if only we have a little scrap!

Some of my UN- favourites!

We're betting plenty of you out there do the same!

So we are going to share these favourite fabrics in a special post this Friday.

We'd love you to share in the fun by adding YOURS with the little linky

gadget.....

So pop back on Friday, to Molly Flanders, or right here...

And share your best bits!

Happy days!

A Dog's Breakfast.....

.....is finished.

This was never going to be a satisfying project once I realized the instructions

were wrong!

See- No 3 says 'Choose a different print....' It should have said 'a same print'!!!

I am also SO over 'improvisational' piecing!

All that piecing, pressing, cutting took SO long!

All for a quilt top, that to me, still looks a mess....

I tried to like it but honestly, I am not feeling the love.

I think I will finish it with a light batting....

for a work mate who is having a summer baby.

Or maybe I will just donate it to charity...

In the meantime it's being packed away....

Maybe the quilt fairies will work their magic on it and turn this Cinderella into a

beautiful princess!

My thoughts today turn to the sad events of 9/11/01

Oh Happy Day!

Well.. the end of the day certainly made up for a  "#@&*)! day at work!

In fact I knew there were parcels waiting for me...

I just didn't know who they were from or what was in them!

I just sat with this one for a while.....

Yes, just sat and enjoyed the anticipation!

And the wrapping was a gift in itself!

Look at this wonderful fabric!

Organic, Birch fabric featuring  bikes!

Isn't this ME?

Thank you, my Ohio friend- I am blessed!

And to cap it off there was another parcel....

This is what I won in a recent giveaway!

Not one, but 4 packets of Aurifill thread!

It was indeed a happy

mail day!

Happy days!

Going Great Guns!

(My Mum loved to say that!)

Yes, progress has been made in the last few days....

Two quilts ready to baste...

The Pies and Tarts....

And the "Twist and Shout".....

I've decided to hand quilt this one!

And I have moved on a little with my hexies....

Finally I pulled this one out of 'isolation' to see how we felt about one another....

Does it still look like a 'dog's breakfast' ?

I've decided it deserved to be completed.....

So I am making all the little 4 & 1/2  inch blocks for two of the edges!

Linking up with Lee @ Freshly Pieced,

Pins or Pegs?

Dryer or Washing Line?

Am I speaking a foreign language?

I'm talking laundry.....

Do you hang your washing outside...

Or do you use a dryer?

Do you use clothes pins or pegs?

If you hang your washing on the line and use pegs you might like this....

A peg bag!

My Mum made peg bags....

Because she didn't like seeing pegs left on the washing line!

Sorry- iPhoto would not let me turn this around!!

So the pegs lived in here til washing day!

I saw a clothes 'pin' pattern that I liked here....

And tweaked it to suit my own purposes.

My sister is moving into a new place so I thought she might appreciate one of

these!

Do you use an apron?

Happy days!

When was the last time....

...you did something for the first time!

(It's a great saying isn't it?)

I am indeed a long time jumping on the hexagon bandwagon!

I have previously done some English Paper Piecing....

My Pies and Tarts quilt...

(which is next in line to be quilted!)

Now I've started spending some times in the evening with these little beauties...

I do have a plan for them....

When was the last time you did something for the first time?

Happy days!
