A Hatrick...

 of finishes!

First my jumper....

called "Twisted"

Although after wearing it a couple of times I think the

sleeves need to be longer.

So I'll be doing that soon!

Second, my Sugar Gum Blossoms wall quilt...

Close-up detail of stitching

Perhaps it needed a post of its own but with the few

comments I get, I don't see much point.

After all, this is a record of my work for future

generations.

I chose to bind it with a facing....

following the tutorial shown on the APQS website on YouTube

There are hanging triangles on the two top corners.

Hopefully it will be hanging on the wall soon.

A quilt without its own post....

 my Solstice Star quilt....

I'm not in love with this one....

a sneak peek of the back...

I quilted with my Westalee rulers and

templates this time!

Nice to know I can still do it!

Quilt #4 for 2023
Lifetime quilt 150

It is also nice to have only one WIP,

as I head off on a little overseas jaunt....!

😁

See you soon,

Carisbrook Cabin Quilt

It's time for an update on my latest  WIP!

I have all the thirty-six blocks completed just waiting to

be pieced together.

I did think I might stop at sixteen, resulting in a small

baby quilt 36" square.

A blogging friend suggested I make a few more to

bring it up to 36" by 54".

Thanks, Suz!

That gave me the incentive to scramble through my

stash for even more combinations!

I thought these colour combinations would tone down

the overall look!

The last twelve made...

Here are a few of my favourite blocks!

I haven't bought one piece of fabric for this quilt-

what a scrap buster!

I'm off on a little road trip tomorrow so the completion

of this quilt top will have to wait a bit!

I'm taking some knitting though....

The wool is more green than brown.

Happy days!

Go Escargot!

It was February the last time I shared these Snail Trail

blocks.

Since then the number has increased....

I've broadened the palette to include red, blue, yellow

and brown.

It's interesting to see the way the pattern can look quite

different, depending on which way the block is turned.

Can you see the difference between this.....

and this?

It certainly helps to stand back and look from a

distance....

Don't stress... this is the 'correct' way

Yesterday I bought these 10" squares...

which will be used for future blocks.

Go-'es-car-go'!

Happy sewing!

Missing again!

It was my husband's turn to have a break,

so I've been missing from this blog and my sewing

room again!

We stayed at a beautiful B&B in Mansfield

I did manage to finish my Daisy Love Purse from

Treehouse Textiles between my return from Tassie and

my getaway in Mansfield!

I also got some more blocks made for my Bessie

Creek Road quilt.

I'm foundation paper piecing the arcs on these.

While away, I spent many an afternoon stitching more

of these blocks too.

While away I happened upon a small quilt show in a

church.

The ones I really liked were all made by the same girl!

And earlier this week, I was lucky enough to be chosen

to test a new quilt pattern for Freebird Quilting designs...

(based somewhat on the design linked here)

This is the fabric I have chosen to work with....

and the start of what I cut out today.

I managed to get a small part of it pieced...

before it was time to get outside and enjoy the late

Autumn sunshine!

I think that's got me caught up!

I promise not to disappear again....

well, I don't have a holiday planned, at least!

Happy days,

SUZ

Catching Up

Time for a little catch-up!

These cute puppies have been in my stash for too long!

I saw what a friend had done with hers and just

                        had to copy it!

It's not a big one, but I am sure it will make someone                                       smile!

And some stash enhancement!

I'm thinking of making a boxy top with the bottom

one- an 'out-of-print' Kaffe Fassett.

One of the leftover panels has become a weebraw bag!

I decided to brush up on my embroidery skills, with

this

Christmas decoration.

And I have nearly finished the hand quilting my voile

AMH Summer quilt....

I'll need to get something to bind it with and then

some photos....stay tuned!

Happy days!
