Starts and finishes....

Maybe it's Spring that has me thinking of starting

something new,

like this cushion...

Or maybe this pattern?

Or finishing this Spring-like window view...

(my 3rd finish for the F-A-L,

original list here)

which is appropriately called

 "Window on the World"...

which travelled all the way round the world!

I've finished my Chuck blocks for August...

these are the latest to join the party!

I want to finish off today thanking my core of faithful

followers....

With the rise of IG and the apparent demise of the

blog,

your constant support and regular comments make

my day...

Thank you Julie and Suz in New Zealand,
Elizabeth and Di in California,
Sandra in Germany,
Carla in Canada,
Julie in Japan,
Barb and Anne in 'somewhere USA',
Carla in Western Australia,
and Lynda, Kirsty, Karen and Rachael in the sunny north!

and all my other followers who I know read along,
some blossoms for you.

Happy days!

A window on my world....

My husband and I had a weekend in the city...

It was so cold, even the stair railings were trying to

stay warm!

I love this bridge, with its view over the city...

it would make a cool quilting pattern!

I did manage to finish my last Chuck block for May...

#431

And May's blocks all together.....

And our plans for June!

For the last year, I have been part of a round robin

swap over on Flick'r

where a starter block was added to by five other girls

Mine is the flower in the top left corner.

It then went to Ethene, Jan and Lynz, in the UK

then Dee in the US and Leanne in Canada,

who finished it off perfectly with pink 'curtains'.

I'm going to hand quilt it into a mini wall quilt

and call it "Window On The World".

Happy days!

Pip's Playground....and a winner!

It was great to get one last quilt finished before the

end of the year!

Presenting "Pip's Playground"....

I held onto my stash of Sherbet Pips for a L.O.N.G

time!

But now its finished I love it!

I chose a fairly simple quilting design....

I did some straight lines first and then my standard

stipple.....

It has a Christmassy, winter feel to it.....

I really love the effect of the back too...

I chose a spotted binding...

It looks quite at home on one of my lounge chairs...

Final dimensions- 48" X 66"

-perfect snuggling size!

And finally, what you are all waiting for...

The winner of my 'flying geese' tote is.....

(0h, where did the number go? It was there before....)

Cindy!

and she said....

I have emailed her...

(I must look out for that fabric suggestion; its not one

I am familiar with.)

Thank you to everyone for sharing their plans for

2013- tackling the UFO pile was popular-

and the fabric you are holding out for-

"Glimma" and "Architextures" are now on my list too!

Happy days!

Another week has come and gone....

I hope everyone had a happy Christmas...

Ours was quiet but full of family,

lovely gifts, laughs and great food....

Eggnog, gingerbread and White Christmas flavoured macaroons!

including macaroons!

My week included sewing, of course!

The Museum Medallion is slowly growing

and

"Pip's Playground" is now complete!

(I'll save the full reveal 'til next time.)

I have cut out two red felt coats...

just six inches tall!

And finished two Modern Stitching Bee blocks!

Quatrefoil block

Finally, there's still time to comment here....

to have the chance to have this....

come and live with you!

I will draw a winner after the weekend!

Happy days!

Playing Nicely...

Radioactive was doing my head in.....

It has been banished until it can play nicely!

I was seriously tempted to start something new

but I resisted.....

Scootering...

And dug my Sherbet Pips out of hiding- from last

year,

oops! Its upside down!
Based loosely on this pattern...

"Sea Breeze" by Mary Cowan

It was pleasure to sew with such pretty fabric, and

soft colours.....

And straight lines!

These images still make me smile, even if this fabric

is so 'last year'!

Sweet girls swinging...

I changed the original layout around a bit...

I really wanted to include the puppy dogs

somewhere....

So with some creative piecing....

they are now running around the outside of

"Pips Playground".....

Finished size: 49" X 67"

Happy days!
