Dragging my feet....

I continue to plod along with my projects.....

I made this...

and these.

They may become coasters?

This is what has taken most of my time...

six inch blocks...

and EPP stars....

which will eventually be added to this....

only a sneak peek at this stage!

But all sewing must wait, because I'm off on a

business trip   school camp,

staying in a five-star hotel  a cabin with bunks,

socialising with supervising adults twelve year olds

for four glorious gruesome days!

Wish me luck!

'Cos if I wasn't dragging my feet before,

 I will be on Friday!

Three for Three!

I have been a part of MCM Bee for the last three

years,

but it's time to move on.

But I thought it was important to acknowledge the wonderful friendships, albeit long distance ones, that were created along the way!

My first quilt in 2013 was "Birds of A Feather"

The lesson learned was that everyone's printer

works

differently, giving a variety of paper pieced feathers.

This one certainly made me think about, and play

with the layout!

My 2014 quilt, only finished earlier this year because

hand quilted it...

was my "Rainbow Connection".

I hope one day to have a wall big enough to hang

this on, and so remember all my bee buddies,

 everyday!

And the last finish was my "Stepping into Christmas"

table runner!

So, three quilts in three years!

Thanks ladies, I have had a ball!

Happy Christmas everyone!

Vying for my attention....

This ...

became this...

A finish!

A hot water bottle cover,

for a charity in New Zealand.

Adrianne from "On the Windy Side"

provided the tutorial...

(and she is having a fabulous giveaway

 here at the moment too!)

Of the five quilts I have 'on-the-go'

I have worked on....

 another Rocky Mountain Puzzle block...

Love those glasses!

to go with these!

And Linda kindly made me this cute flamingo one

 to add to my collection!

He's perfect, isn't he?

I have also added to my City Sampler blocks...

ooops, they are all upside down!

And finally I have hand pieced this 6" star

for my Museum Medallion!

With the first school semester almost at an end

and the winter solstice imminent,

there's much to celebrate!

I'm off for a few days at the beach...

I'll draw the winners of my "felt" giveaway

when I return....

See you soon!

WIPs Wednesday, May (nearly June!) edition...

Must be time to take stock again....

Museum Medallion is slowly progressing...

I am nearly halfway around the last round

 of drunkard paths blocks....

I would like to think I can have this finished

by the end of September,

one year after I started it!

Remember, I'm hand piecing this beast!

My Feathers are arriving, almost daily....

Here's the latest one from Mary on Lake Pulaski.

And I had some time to play around

with some paper piecing...

This is called "Boston Pavement" by Sarah

She describes it as "Steampunk" without the curves!

It is a fun block to make...

just not sure whether I'll make any more?

No progress-
knitting or Christmas embroidery...

but there is plenty of winter time left to get to these!

That's my story and I'm keeping to it!

Happy sewing!

Really Random Thursday....

I received this card for Mother's Day....

from my son...

...get it?

And the tape measure has a fashion graphic for

every decade from the late 1700's!

And this stash of fabric arrived in the post recently!

Thank you Cindy, you are very generous!

I have long loved owls....

This is one of my favourite quilts,

Chubby Star
Chubby Star made with Alexander Henry "Spotted Owl" fabric...

so when I 'spotted' this mug (on the right) for $2

in my local Op Shop....

I knew I had a treasure!

It was a perfect partner for my other Fitz and Floyd

mug from 1978!

Unfortunately there hasn't been much sewing

happening...

except some slow stitching on my

Museum Medallion.

MCM5 Feather Block
And the arrival of another beautiful

feather, from Elizabeth!

Thank you, I love it!

I hope to be back soon with something new!

Happy days!

WIPS Wednesday- April Edition

I am surprised to see it has been six weeks since my

last WIPS Wednesday post....

And time to take stock!

There are far fewer WIPS on the list but some new

things too!

Ginger Kisses is waiting to be quilted.....

And I have made some headway on my

 "Museum Medallion" blocks.....

These take almost as much time to pin

as they do to sew....

They are only 3.5 inches square when complete!

I have made some bee blocks....

And I'm making another bag......

and quilting the strap.

Finally, I will leave you with another 'teaser'

photo of my hexies!

All will be revealed soon!

NO PROGRESS

Christmas Embroideries
"Feathers" Quilt
"RadioActive" Quilt
Knitting - sweater and socks

I am now thinking about what I might do next.....

more hand piecing,

hand quilting, knitting or embroidery?

Decisions, decisions......

Do you have trouble deciding

which project to tackle next?

Slow Sewing.....

I have decided, with three months of the year almost

over and little to show for it,

that this is "The Year of Slow Sewing"......

I have at least finished the second of two bibs.....

The Easter bunny stopped by.....

hand pieced three circle blocks for my

Museum Medallion,

At this rate, it will be at least May before this round is finished!

and am EPPing some little hexies!

My Juki is feeling very neglected!

That's okay, its first term holidays next week, so

there will lots more sewing time!

Yippee!

Now I just need to decide what quilt to make next!

Happy sewing!
