And on it goes...

 Summer that is!

I got my "Shuffle" quilt together...

It's now awaiting motivation by me to baste it and get

started on the quilting...

Maybe tomorrow?😃

I've begun a sew-along being run by

Elizabeth at OccasionalPiece Quilt

Taken from Elizabeth's blog

It is a relaxed project where she is releasing one free

pattern for the next few months.

The first one is this pretty paper pieced block....

yes, even the back is pretty!

And the front is lovely too!

If you would like to join in the Hearts Garden sew-along

all the details can be found HERE

I've supplemented my fabric options for this project

with some stash enhancement....

Aren't those safety pins the cutest?

I was very disappointed to find that one fabric store

now only cuts 25cm minimums.

As if the price of quilting is not expensive enough?

I found this amazing piece of Amy Butler "Lark" fabric in

an op shop- 2 metres of furnishing weight for $4!

I need to decide how I will use it?

Maybe cover a chair, make aprons, or bags?

I also found a vintage sheet for $3, and a metre of

Jennifer Sampou "Sweet Dreams" for $1!

For the first time in many, many years we are growing

herbs and a few vegetables....

I can't wait to see what we produce!

My eldest grandson started school....

and he loves it!

I need to get started on a library bag for him.

But in the meantime, this shopping bag says it all....

Happy days!

A quilt with no name....yet!

Much as I try, I cannot settle on a name for this quilt!

Sue Daley, the designer, calls it Quattro Colour!

But I feel it needs to be a little more special.

Anyway, here she is.....

I've spent the last week quilting a simple flower design

with a Westalee ruler...

Initially I was concerned about the centre 'blob' where

the stitching starts and finishes...

but I figure once it is washed and dried,

it will be barely noticeable.

The back is very neat!

I kept the quilting simple in the border too....

it is barely visible, being on black fabric.

I used my Aurifil thread stash with mainly white on the

front and the dark grey on the back!

The quilt finished at about 68" square....

Not much else to add,

so enjoy the photos....

Quilt swirls are a big thing on Instagram

And a quilt roll

And another shot of the back.

A label will need to wait until I settle on a name.

It's been a while since I had a quilt finish!

I'm hoping to share another one with you soon!

Quilt #4 for 2021
Lifetime quilt #133

Happy sewing...

Edited- I have decided to call this "Pastiche" - thanks Anne @Springfield Studios for the suggestion!

Potpourri

I've had problems with moths and silverfish,

nibbling at my "out-of-season" clothes!

and I certainly didn't want the smell of mothballs

permeating them!

So I followed a recipe I found here

And I ordered some lavender and lemon balm online

to make some little fabric sachet bags!

and set them to work!

On a completely different note, I wanted to check the

length of my Whittaker pinafore,

So got my lipstick on and coerced Mr PnP to take

some photos!

And I am happy to say the length is perfect!

Finally I found another fabulous free tutorial here

@lillyella:

after seeing lots of them on Instagram!

It's a mini maker station for the arm of my couch!

I love how it keeps everything together!

The perfect place for all my English Paper Piecing

supplies!

And I am pretty sure my Quattro Colour is going to be

finished soon!

Happy sewing, and stay strong friends!

Staying busy!

I can honestly say I don't remember how long we

 have been in lockdown.

But sewing helps me punctuate my days!

I certainly don't have the focus to baste or quilt,

Although I have pieced together

a modified version of my Smorgasbord quilt.

And enjoy evenings EPP'ing my Quattro Colour quilt.

I'm up to the last round, aiming for an October 1st

finish!

I have chosen some smaller projects too...

A new cushion in more subdued colours.

Using up every scrap of these fabrics!

I sorted out my dressmaking fabric stash and

made a Style Arc "Eme" dress.

Happy sewing indeed!

Catching up!

My Quatro Colour blocks are multiplying......

This group of nine makes 34 in total!

These blocks are labour intensive....

Lots of trimming and pressing!

The scraps from each corner have been pieced into

this mini....

which I am intending to make into a cover for my

Bernina!

A friend gave me this beautiful fabric ....

so I am making a matching top with these lovely

wools!

And here is my grandson Aston....

just because!

Happy days!
