I was desperate to sew, but a fuzzy, sleepy head
couldn't cope with anything too taxing!
I bought this printed panel in France...
and knew I wanted to make a cushion.
The outer fabric I purchased at the same time.
The pink spot was in my stash...
And the hand stitching was the perfect way,
to wile away a wintery evening!
These are the sewing related souvenirs
I purchased while I was away...
Do you think I could find a place to buy the quilting magazines they have in England? |
The fabric, in green and yellow,
reminded me of Australia.
And aren't the V&A scissors earrings the cutest?
Happy days!

Welcome home Suz. I love it that you've gotten straight back into sewing. That cushion is really lovely and a beautiful souvenir of you trip. Those scissor earrings are the cutest!
Glad you made it home safely :-) And back at the sewing already! Love your purchases - you were very restrained :-)
Home safe and sound and right back into the swing of things. Love your cushion. The hand stitching adds such a nice touch. What a pretty way to remember your trip. OK, the earrings are just too cute! Have a nice weekend.
The cushion is lovely and the earrings are perfect! A great find :-)
I agree with Deborah that your shopping was very restrained,Suz! What a cute cushion you will have to remember your trip by. Is that a little flower bag next to the thread?...so cute...do tell!
That cushion is the greatest. Did you add any extra embroidery stitching to it - or was that all just panel? Looks like a wonderful little collection of goodies to remind you of your time away. That mag looks fun - many are available as online magazines... although not as satisfying as the real thing!
It's always fun to complete a quick project
What a lovely little panel and a great memory of your trip. perfect for a cushion. Lovely work.
I think you did a super job of selecting things to remind you of your trip. Welcome home!
A sewing memorabilia project which is gorgeous - two nations collide in harmony! :-)
Those earrings are the cutest. I almost wish I had pierced ears!

Cute!!! Hope the jet lag clears soon.
Welcome back, I do love your new cushion, it's so pretty, great souvenirs too.
Those scissor earrings ARE the cutest. I looked and looked for an affordable souvenir in London when we were there last, and just couldn't break out my wallet to pay those prices. Now maybe if I'd seen those. . .
Love your cushion. Perfect!
Elizabeth
I beautiful way to highlight memories and treasures from your trip away. The printed panel would make a good stitchery project too if a little larger.
That panel is so sweet and a perfect way to remember your trip!
