After some recent finishes, I had promised myself a new project....
And I'd wanted to use this for some time!
So I supplemented my recent purchases with this 10 inch scrap....
(This is a wonderful soft fabric- anyone know what line its from?) |
And this one.......
To make this......
But it didn't stop there....
I cut....
and twisted.....
and got this.....
It has 'shrunk' considerably during the process so there is still more to be done!
Yes, it is a WORK IN PROGRESS, so I am linking up with for Lee's
WIPS Wednesday!
WIPS Wednesday!
Happy Sewing!
(That's me shouting!)
Enjoy!

That is so clever! I didn't know that's how people did those quilts! I thought the pieces were all painstakingly planned. Love your fabric choices!
I think I would have lost my nerve at the cutting up stage - it looks brilliant!
It looks fabulous, I don't think I could have cut it up either, but it was well worth it.
I have no idea what the first fabric is, sorry.
Suz~ am in process of hand quilting a baby Lil' Twister quilt right now! I love how they turn out! And you are right-I lost about 1/3 of the quilt, but that just makes it interesting, eh? Yours is lovely, btw! :)
I love these quilts and can't wait to make one - need to put it on my list of things to do!
That is a lot of work, sew and then cut. Wow! But the end result is really cute.
Oh for Pete Sakes....that is fabulous!!! I love that little template and now something else I need to put on my must buy list! Super, super cute!!!
Thanks Suz. Some days ago I was looking for a funny wheel for a quilt along desing and I discoverd it. It's really greate, I love it too. Thanks for share.
I love how these quilts come out looking - And yours is Gorgeous!!! Such a dramatic change from the standard squares to the twisted pinwheels!! Looks like I'm not the only one to want to try out this tool! I can't wait to see how you finish this quilt!!
Hello! That is really beautiful! I love the pattern and the colours! I would love to try this - you think it's possible to cut without that tool?!
Sunny wishes! Teje
oh, I'd seen this about a year ago and thought it was amazing! Yours looks amazing too! You can always go wild with the borders to get it back up to size again. Great job! Will have to put this tool on the Chrissie list.
It looks fantastic! What a great idea - I never would have thought to put together a top to cut it up and stitch it again, but it looks great! Keep cutting, my friend!
I couldn't have....but look what I would have missed out on!

That is such a neat little tool! I love the fabrics you have used. Very cute start to a quilt!
very nice, and it looks like lots of fun to do
"you know you look so good, you know you look so fine, cummon and twist a little closer now, let me know that you're mine - ooooh" - definately a twist and shout quilt- gorgeous - and wouldn't really mind it being mine either!
That's really an amazing process - with a great outcome! Very fun!
I love this! I have wanted to make one of these for a long time. Maybe next year...
Can't wait to see this when it's finished!
Beautiful! I love using my twister template, I have the one for 5" squares.
that is so cute. I might have to get that twister template!
Love it! Takes a simple block quilt to a new level!
It looks great!
omgosh, so beautiful, I love these quilts!
The quilts made with that little twister tool always call me. You have used such nice fabrics too.
I have just bought that same template and had it in my head that I wanted to alternate blocks with white but hadn't really worked out how to do it. Now I see yours and it is just perfect. I love it. It works so well. Thank you for doing all the thinking on this one. Love the fabric, too. Is it Summerhouse? How much bigger do you think you will make it? Good luck!
And I have been singing all the way through the post!
So cute and the twister tool is on my wishlist :)
Wow! Very cool. I'd never seen them made this way before. Yours looks great!!
