Who'd have thought...

that a fabric producer would know about

my little blog?

Back in late January I received an email from

P&B Textiles in the US,

asking if I would be interested in some fat quarter

packs to use!

Of course I said 'Yes'!

And look what arrived yesterday…..

I am so ready to get cutting!

I will also be sharing some of the P&B love,

so keep your eyes on a giveaway coming soon

to a blog near you!

I especially love that one on the bottom left!

I hope you have had some fabric love in your life recently?

Happy sewing!

Inspiration Awaits!

Look what arrived at my house this week....

I was lucky enough to win the Shecanquilt SMS

giveaway recently!

Thanks Leanne for your generosity....

I love this range of fabric.....

And look how much I have!

Probably enough for 2 quilts...

and maybe a purse or pouch or two?

A book bag from the alphabet fabric?

I'd love to hear your ideas on what I could do with

this wonderful fabric!

Maybe granny squares?

Or a stained glass quilt?

Until then I will content myself with this...

A new winter dress!

Jazz Hands

Thank you all for your kind comments about my

Jazz Hands EPP blocks!

I am slowly working on these...

Five down, seven to go!

Each block has 72 kite pieces in each 12" (point-to-

point) block, so it is quite slow going!

I have been toying with some ideas about how I

might join the blocks?

The MO2 book, which I am basing my quilt on, has
two options.....

a long strip....

or a diamond?

And I have also 'pinned' a triangular version...

I purchased a piece of Kaffe as a possible fabric

choice?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on fabric and setting....

In the meantime, I have another set cut out ready to

go!

Now I just need some more papers!

Someone Stole My Mojo!

A headache combined with house guests and upsetting news from a friend

have conspired against me!

Not much sewing...

Not much blogging!

I have done some cutting...

of my "Summer Stars" setting diamonds

(this quilt has previously been none as "Stars in Your Eyes")

and some playing with solids....

for another planned mini?

And I received a little charm pack.....

from Quiet Play's fugly giveaway!
I am happy to know I have a plan for this....

Now I just need to find my MOJO!!

Happy days!

A Busy Weekend...

saw me do, among other things, a little sewing ....

My zipper pouch, for my secret partner, is complete!

I embroidered "K"'s initial on the back!

(BTW- I'm pretty sure she doesn't read my blog!)

Mr PnP and I also managed a visit to Bendigo in central Victoria to see a

Hollywood photographic exhibition....

And no road trip is complete without a little fabric purchase!

The Grace Kelly exhibition is coming up soon, so I will certainly be returning to

see that!

And finally I snuck in an hour this afternoon cutting out some more kites...

using some of my 'just purchased' fabric!

Happy days!

Reporting In!

with little bit and pieces!

Firstly, I decided to get some order into my stash!

I borrowed this book from my library...

And got cutting...

into 2", 3.5" and 5" squares!

There is something satisfying about make order out of scrap!

And I have started a new secret project.....

but I have only got to the cutting stage with this!

I have managed a little sewing...

Here are some of my favourite Farmer's Wife blocks together....

And the hand quilting on my Modern Sampler Christmas Runner! ooops!

Resistance was Useless!

I was at my favourite fabric shop buying batting,

when I saw this.....

and of course it had to come home with me!

And it wasn't long before I had a plan!

It involved a little cutting...

and stitching...

and before too long I had a pretty pieced top...

This will become a baby quilt for a friend's Summer baby!

It is a simple free pattern from "Oh Fransson"!

Sometimes one needs some instant gratification!

(Yes, I did change one of the prints for something from my stash!

Does it look better?)

Swirling, Twirling Whirlygig!

Thanks for all all the wonderful comments about my Twist and Shout Quilt!

The top is now complete!

There were strips like this left over from around the edge...

So I trimmed them up....

And added them to some other scraps...

This will be used in the backing.

And this is the front...

It's not a large quilt,

about 28 by 36 inches....

But pretty all the same!

This was fun to make.....

And fun to share!

Will I call it "Twist and Shout".....

or "Twirling Whirlygig"?

Opinions please!

Something to Leave You With!

Very soon I will heading off on a little trip....

(Well, not so little!)

And I have been "flat out like a lizard lying in the sun"....

(An Australian expression!)

Getting on top of all my school reports, assessments and corrections!

But I did manage, in the last couple of days, to squeeze in a bit of sewing to
relieve the tension!

Sorry about the colour, it was particularly overcast morning when I took this!

I cut into my stash of "From Little Things" by Sarah Fielke, which I won at Red Pepper Quilts a while back!

I decided on a pattern from the "Stitch" magazine my friend Colette sent me from the States!

And I am SO enjoying improvised piecing to a pattern!

That's what you call an oxymoron, isn't it?

It's a wonky half square log cabin!

Ah! That's better!
It won't be finished before I head off, but that's okay!

It gives me something to come back to besides all that machine quilting!

I also managed to bind my house quilt...

So that's another one moved to the "Finished" list!

There'll just be enough time for one last post before I leave...

Happy days!
