A Hatrick...

 of finishes!

First my jumper....

called "Twisted"

Although after wearing it a couple of times I think the

sleeves need to be longer.

So I'll be doing that soon!

Second, my Sugar Gum Blossoms wall quilt...

Close-up detail of stitching

Perhaps it needed a post of its own but with the few

comments I get, I don't see much point.

After all, this is a record of my work for future

generations.

I chose to bind it with a facing....

following the tutorial shown on the APQS website on YouTube

There are hanging triangles on the two top corners.

Hopefully it will be hanging on the wall soon.

A quilt without its own post....

 my Solstice Star quilt....

I'm not in love with this one....

a sneak peek of the back...

I quilted with my Westalee rulers and

templates this time!

Nice to know I can still do it!

Quilt #4 for 2023
Lifetime quilt 150

It is also nice to have only one WIP,

as I head off on a little overseas jaunt....!

😁

See you soon,

SUZ

Oh wow, you have been busy, Susan! Your knitted jumper is gorgeous. LoVe the cabled yoke; 'tis amazing. How beautiful your Sugar Gum Blossoms wall quilt is. Such pretty applique and the quilting is wonderful. You don't love your Westalee ruler quilted quilt?? I hope you love your colourful scrappy WIP, as it is so joyous. Have a wonderful time overseas. Travel safely.

You've made some lovely quilts! Your hand quilting on Sugar Gum Blossoms is beautiful! Solstice Star isn't a dramatic quilt but it looks like a good one for a man. You did a good job with the quilting. The strip triangles are going to make an interesting quilt also. Have a good trip! Are you taking any hand sewing along?

Love your Sugar Plum wall hanging. Also love your posts, though I seldom post. And that blue quilt looks perfect for when you just need another quilt (without all the drama of whether it should or shouldn't be used for . . . etc.) Besides, those blues are very peaceful. Have a fun trip!

Yippee! I get to be your first comment!
All your finishes are amazing, and of course, knowing nothing about knitting, am intrigued by the fact that you can make your sleeves on your sweater longer -- even after it is finished. You knitters always amaze me with your skills. That twisted pattern is so beautiful, and should keep you warm this winter.

I love your Sugar Gum Blossoms quilt. I'm so impressed with the hand stitching, and love the motion it gives to the piecing. And that backing is wonderful, too! It seems to "match" with the front so well. Is it a treasure from your stash, or a new purchase?

And then two more quilts: Solstice Star and the work-in-progress of your string quilt. Your productivity is inspiring. I also have quilts that I'm not in love with, but I think your ruler-quilting on the Solstice is really impressive. I especially like the scallops in the border and the stars. Hopefully this quilt will grow on you, but I also know you give away a lot of your quilts.
You didn't say where you were going (but I think I know) so I won't say it here, publicly, either. But Bon Voyage and have a wonderful time with your family! Is this the first trip you've taken since covid? I hope you have a fabulous time.
Hugs from far away-- Elizabeth

Oh wow! You've been a busy lady! That's a nice sweater. Are you needing to wear it because it's been cold? I love your Sugar Gum Blossoms wall quilt! The colors are so pretty, and your quilting gives it just the right amount of texture to make it look life-like. I've been doing a lot more faced finishes myself. Instructions I follow have those folded square triangles on all four corners. I like the look of facing, and it suits your quilt well. And hey... give yourself more credit for Solstice Star! It looks good! The prints are really "you." And you quilted it using rulers! They're not always easy to handle, so it must make you feel good that you can. Only ONE WIP?! I am SO jealous! Good grief. At this moment, I have four quilts awaiting quilting. I hope you are going somewhere wonderful on your overseas trip! After a 12-1/2 week-long wait, I finally got a new passport. Hoping myself to do some traveling. Enjoy yourself and travel safely!

All looking good, especially the gum blossom, so beautiful. Now, is the jumper knitted wholly on a circular needle or only the cable yoke? It's stunning. One very clever lady. Enjoy your overseas jaunt.

Your Sugar Gum quilt is gorgeous!! And how do you lengthen arms of a sweater already done? Hope you are having fun on your jaunt. We are leaving two weeks from tomorrow.

My favourites are the jumper and the WIP.
Where are you jetting off to?
I have 2 months before I go to the UK for a few weeks. Still seems like a dream, not yet reality.

I love what you choose to spend your time stitching. That Gum Tree quilt is beautiful. Nice to see you modelling your lovely jumper too. How clever you are to knit clothes! Happy Stitching from me in Canada!

Hey, you post what you want to post dear girl. That quilts reminds me of some very old quilts that my mother made back in the 40's and 50's. I'm planning to tackle big stitch quilting on a wall hanging. Wish me luck as I've never hand quilted anything before and am hoping big stitches are more forgiving than the little ones. Have a safe and happy trip.
