A quick catch-up!

Summer is in full swing here, so there's lot to be done.

Evenings have been spent hand stitching....

The designer even shared it on Instagram yesterday!

And I've loved making this quilt top!

At a loose end, and not feeling like the basting,

quilting, binding rigmarole,

I decided to delve into my 2.5" scrap box.

I found I had already pieced thirty-two 4 by 4

blocks,

so kept going and came up with this.

Now to find some backing and get quilting!

I even have a recipient in mind.
Happy sewing!

Your flies are just lovely, Suz, and the scrappy squares turned out beautifully. You've gotten off to a great start for the new year.

Love the shades of chartreuse you're using for your backgrounds and you already know I love your star quilt.

You have been so productive - loving your scrappy star (galaxy) quilt. Felt and embroidery is such fun to play with.

Love the chartreuse background fabrics you are using on your banner, the sashing on your scrappy square quilt finishes it off really nicely.

Your little Summer Flies are adorable. Wish I enjoyed handwork because there are so many nice projects I'd love to do. Maybe someday I'll motivate. I also love the layout of your scrappy 4-patches. I'm hoping to cut a bunch of scraps this year so they are ready to go as leaders and enders. Have a lovely 2019.

I'm pretty sure I saw your felt embroidery on someone else's stories but can't remember whose it was! Great mix of projects for the start of 2019!

Wow. Love your work with the felt. Beautiful stitching. No wonder the designer shared it.
And the quilt top is a delight, too. All those little squares looking wonderful with their stars. Looks like you are making the most of the break.

Susan--Those Summer Flies are amazing! I lingered a long time on those photos, enjpying the intracacies of your fussy cutting and stitching. oh, wow--magnificent!
Congrats also on finishing a quilt top. I think those stars were just made for that reason, and were patiently waiting. Bravo!
