Introducing Mr. B. Wren

I loved making this cushion!

I participated in a workshop with Jess, one of the

Jess, with her cushion.  It will give you some idea of its size.

at the Australian Quilt Convention recently.

That's my friend Deb, stitching away!
I couldn't wait to get the background stitched up....

and get Mr B Wren pieced, appliqued

and the top quilted.

And here you can just see the orange binding I

edged the cushion with!

If you are looking for something different to sew,

and love EPP,

I can highly recommend this pattern!

Happy sewing!

  1. There's that delightful bird again! Such a great cushion. All the details work so well together. Great job!!

  2. I fell in love with this the moment I first saw him!!

  3. That is so cute Susan. Blue wrens are one of my favourite birds and I love EPP. I think that might just be a perfect match. Love it.

  4. Looks fabulous and definitely a change from hexis.

  5. I love your wren. This is a beautiful cushion :)

  6. I really like how this came together. A lot of piecing (background and bird), but so worth the finish! The quilting and binding are just right.

  7. Your cushion is so beautiful. I love it.

  8. So beautiful - love the fabrics used to sew this little Blue Wren.

  9. The cushion cover looks wonderful Susan - love the orange binding.

  10. Great result. Your blue wren is gorgeous and I love the background. A great kit!

  11. It's an adorable bird, Susan. I wouldn't have guessed it was EPPed, but rather FPPed. Looks like it was fun to stitch. And, the bird makes me think of the pretty blue bird I recently saw here. I had to look it up. It was an Eastern blue bird. Just gorgeous. Nice to know we have a few colorful birds here, but they don't compare to to the numerous beauties you have in Aus.

  12. Well, of course the orange binding is perfect. That little bird is just the cutest thing!

  13. I just love this little bird. It's so so sweet.

  14. I love seeing our Australian flora and fauna being represented in textiles - all the more so when many of the fabrics are also Australian designs. A beautiful EPP design!
