Summer Breeze!

is finished!

I spent a very pleasant Saturday afternoon machine quilting this....

(Sorry about the photos, it is very dull here today!)

with some of that lovely aqua thread I bought from Kat!

I chose the background fabric from one of the pieces on the front which I really

love!

I chose to quilt it with straight lines about 3/4 of an inch apart!

I didn't think I could trust my eye so thought of this method...

I was taught how to hand quilt a straight line many years ago, by using

masking tape.

And I was reminded of it when I saw Mary's lovely work the other day!

And it worked a treat...

Organic is how it's described, I believe!

And I was able to get it bound and finished all in the one day!

Don't you love it when things go smoothly!

Final dimensions- 33" X 39"

But big is not always beautiful!

Sew Happy...

to have fabulous blogging friends....

Kat @ Mumma's Time to Create was ordering some thread...

And offered to include some for her blogging mates....

So these pretty things arrived in the post this week..
.

She generously included some lovely little scraps including a Heather Ross

goldfish!

So cute!

And I won a giveaway from L'Uccello, a fabulous vintage store in Melbourne,

recently....

and my postman delivered these goodies....

 Lots of notions.....

Not even sure what this little wooden thing is?

And finally my beautiful Christmas Table Runner....

from Cindy at Fluffy Sheep Quilting

who generously included this great gift bag!

Which is not going anywhere!

Happy days!

Feeling Special!

I have just participated in THE best swap ever!

The Christmas Mug Rug Swap on Flick'r.

This one ran a little differently, in that we knew, from the very beginning, who

our partner was.

We were only allowed to post 'sneak peaks'.

So far my partner Julie has only seen this....

But today I received this....

And these are just the extras!

Fabric, stickers tags, ribbon!

And not just one mug rug.....

...beautifully free-pieced and quilted!

But two!!!

Look at this cute little red Christmas bike carrying a Christmas Tree!

With its pretty spot flange and swirled quilting!

Didn't Julie 'read' me well?

And here are the backs....

as pretty as the fronts!

These beauties are too lovely to spoil with tea or coffee stains!

They will be a highlight of my Christmas decorating!

I am indeed feeling very special today!

Thank you Julie!

Check out her lovely work over here...

Sunday Stash!

It has been sometime since I did a Sunday Stash post!

But it has been sometime since I bought such beautiful fabric!

ECHO by Lotta Jansdotter!

Do you have fabric envy?

I love how this feels...

And how it looks!

Such clean lines...

and amazing colours!

I bought it from Fabricworm...

and boy, was it quick!

(Not sure why my other parcels from the States take so long!)

I have definite plans for this, so stay tuned!

I'd love to know what fabric you are ogling!

Maybe there is something out there I haven't seen yet!

Happy sewing!

It's in the Mail!

My Christmas Table Runner is on its way...

to the other side of the world!

With a little tree decoration to go with it.

The Christmas Mug Rug is also in the mail - to Julie in the United States!

This is the back...I don't want to spoil the surprise too much!

I have spent a little time making some other Christmas decorations too.....

And finally a couple of shots of my FW blocks all together..

32 in all!

I'm hoping to start quilting either my "Pies and Tarts" quilt or

the "Cool Change" baby quilt next week!

Stay tuned!

Linking up with Lee @ Freshly Pieced for WIPS Wednesday!

Plans in the Making...

There has been much discussion between the Farmer and his Wife...

about plans in the making....

The "Gentleman's Fancy"....

#44

is, for outside, a "Windmill"....

#108

to make a "Practical Orchard"!

#69

While "Mother's Dream", for the kitchen....

#58

is "Linoleum"...

#55

and a "Kitchen Woodbox"!

#54
Who will win this argument?!

The Farmer?

or his wife?

In the meantime....

32 blocks so far!

....this is how things are stacking up!

Touching base!

Life has taken over this week..

So not much to share....

I'm calling this 'finished' because I don't think I have time to do more before

mail day....

I hope my secret partner, across the seas, likes it as much as I do!

And because my partner for this swap is NOT a secret...

this is all I can share with you for the moment!

(Are you hoping for more, Julie!?)

I hope to show you a little bit more....

soon!

I am really pleased with how this is working out!

Finally, this bowl of prettiness has put some sunshine in my rather dreary,

work laden,

"sniffle" ridden week!

Thank you Mary...

I still have plenty.....

You see, I'm not very good at sharing!

Happy days!
