Going Potty....

I've had this fabric in my stash for some time now...

ooops! It's upside down!

In fact I had cut out it out ready to make potholders...

I even had the bias binding ready!

But it was only when I was in Spotlight last week that 

I spotted the Insul-brite I would need to finish them!

I did a variety of quilting and.....

Not quite Zakka, but fun anyway!

I am really pleased with how they turned out!

to get this little project ticked off!

Life's Good!

School's out for me for three weeks.......

The shortest day has come and gone for another 

year....

My friends sent me a photo of baby Chelsea

enjoying her quilt....

And I am enjoying playing with these.....

There is something fun about gingham!

I hope your weekend is full of fun!

Test Pattern!

Yes,  I'm doing it again...

Testing a pattern!

These were paper pieced....I really enjoyed doing 

them!

and have I given you enough of a clue as to what 

these are....

Do small things..

.....with great love!

My mini is finished!

I heavily quilted it the corners with #12 perle 


thread....

I think I need a clearer photo...

I'm really pleased to have something to move to the 


'finished' list!

Because the 'WIPs' list just seems to get bigger....


I am plugging along with my EPP project...

and "Summer Stars" is my next hand quilting project!

But the really scarey thing is my machine sewing 


list....


1.   Machine quilt the "Crossroads" quilt


2.   Make my winter dress


3.   Make a quilt from my "Echo" fabric

4.   Make something from my "Summersville" fabric

5.   Make a wall quilt for my sister (and a some 


placemats!)


6.   And a couple of secret projects!


I figure by putting my list out there for everyone to 


see 


will make me a bit more accountable!


And I do have a couple of weeks off soon, so I'll see 


how I go!

Probably enough for 2 quilts...

and maybe a purse or pouch or two?

A book bag from the alphabet fabric?

I'd love to hear your ideas on what I could do with

Maybe granny squares?


Or a stained glass quilt?

Until then I will content myself with this...

Better Late Than Never!

Do you remember this?

My runner for the Christmas Table Runner Swap held 

at the end of 2011!

Much to my delight, it has finally been delivered 

personally to Annabella, the intended recipient!

Susan @ Canadian Abroad was one of the Mamas who 

organised this swap.

So when the runner was returned to my home in the 

New Year, she offered to play postman!

It was handed over just recently when Annabella and 

Susan met after the Fat Quarter Retreat!

Annabella knew she was receiving a runner but 

thought it was a substitute,

not the original!

Even the little Christmas decoration was there!

Better late than never, hey!

A bit of paper piecing on the backing!

I wonder if Annabella celebrates "Christmas in July" 

like some of us do 'downunder'?

The Un-Zip Organizer

It's been some weeks since I joined in the 

Zakka Style Sew Along....

(When you get to be my age, you can afford to be 


picky!)

Autumn in Melbourne- so inspiring!

And this one nearly didn't happen either! 

I read the instructions a number of times....

I really didn't want to mess up the fabric I had 

carefully chosen.....

The zipper is a little wonky!

But I am pretty pleased with how it finished up!

But the outside zipper wasn't ever going to 


happen....

The first reason was I didn't have the right sized 

zip....

but more importantly I didn't think my machine would 

have handled all those layers!

So I used a magnetic closure, which did the job 

perfectly!

My organiser is now in commission!

Has anyone else tackled this one?

I'd love to hear how you got on!

Feeling Neglected!

For some time now I have had some pieces of fabric,

just sitting around feeling neglected...

You may recognise them as the leftover bits from my 


"Summer Stars" quilt, first 

posted about back in January....

And after all the hand sewing I have been 

concentrating on recently,

I really wanted to sit at my machine and just 


.....piece.

And this is the result!

Apart from the fact they remind me of a radioactive 


sign, I think I like them....

There are still some design decisions to be made...

maybe some setting triangles or sashing strips?

Advice gratefully accepted!
