"Snuggle Bunny"

is the name of my latest finish.

I again followed the Art Gallery "Snuggle" pattern for

this Dashwood Studios panel

I quilted straight diagonal lines in the outer pattern

but was eager to test my Free Motion quilting skills,

now that I have my Juki back!

To say I was chuffed with the effect was an

understatement!

The quilt finishes at about 36" square,

a good size for a baby play mat.

Both the backing and binding came from my stash!

The label will have to wait until I return from school camp!

But quilt #2 for 2020 is finished!

#121 all-time quilt

"Free Wheelin"

is my sixth finish for the year!

It is a scaled-down version of the Meadowland quilt.

I added a thin sashing to change it up some more.

It's not a big quilt- about 52" square.

I quilted it in a variety of wavy lines

both from my machine's stitching options and some

free motion ones.

It's now looking for a new home!

This is quilt #106 on my all-time list!

Happy sewing!

B100MS!

I've had this quilt finished for a few days now, but

with all the Christmas preparations and "Eli-sitting",

there has been little opportunity to get decent

photos!

I'm not sure why the inside shots are so poor in

colour quality?

You get a better idea of the quilting here...

a FMQ square spiral in each rectangle.

Here it is being caught in the wind today....

much brighter and true-to-life!

And why that name,

"B100MS", I hear you ask?

I used a vintage sheet for the backing

This is my 100th quilt, so I put that number "100"

into the word Blooms,

and that's what I came up with!

A simple quilt which effectively shows the varied and

mostly floral prints!

This is my 12th quilt for 2018 too!

The Musicians of Bremen

What do a donkey, a dog, a cat and a rooster have

in common?

They are all significant characters in the traditional

folktale "The Musicians of Bremen" from Germany!

But it took me a while to connect the dots when a

colleague asked for a quilt featuring them.

I found a graphic on Etsy that I was able to use.....

So I cut them out in felt and then thought,

"What now?"

A scrounge through my stash revealed a surprising

number of coordinating fabrics...

With chickens, cats, dogs AND foxes, my friend's

favourite animal!

No donkeys I'm afraid!

So I pieced a simple patchwork panel of 3" squares,

bordered it with blue....

And played around with the animal placement.

I felt the animals got a little lost like this,

so hand stitched the animal quartet

to the lower one!

I then did two types of quilting....

a simple grid in the centre

and what I am calling a square stipple on

the borders!

The backing is a circus print that matches-

colour-wise, at least!

I'm extremely pleased with how it turned out....

And hope my friend is too!

Finished size- 32" by 39"

No Grand Illusions!

I'm calling my latest finish "No Grand Illusions'!

It is the 'Hidden Agenda' quilt pattern I tested for

Angela recently.

I had fun quilting these swirls!

Since I have been making my own basting spray,

using this recipe,

the actual process goes very 'smoothly'!

There are some hearts quilted here!

The spray is probably not as economical as the

commercial brands, but boy, does it stick!

Can you tell I love this print?

Now FMQ is the final fear I need to conquer!

This little section does make me happy though....

I also had fun photographing this quilt too,

finding pretty spots in my sister's home.

For an extra fast finish, I also machine stitched the

binding!

#97 lifetime quilt

#9 for 2018

I've now finished more quilts this year than I did last

year,

with another three planned.

Quilt finishes at 56" by 72"

The back.

All Cotton and Steel fabric.

Little by Little...

I have made some inroads into my 'to-do' list!

I spent some time this weekend FMQ this quilt....

I didn't make this quilt top...

I posted about it back here.

I won it as part of a giveaway back in January..

And it is now almost complete!

Just the binding to do!

And I have also been working on my Embroider-bee block...

I'm feeling I may even be up-to-date soon!

Although I do think those French Knots on the right will need to be re-done!

Happy sewing!
