......my Ditsy Doileys quilt is now finished.
And it also has a new name,
which suits it much better!
There is this pretty painted wall nearby so we headed
there this morning before it got to windy....
You can see a little of the backing fabric, pieced from
leftover pieces of sheets I have previously used.
I machine quilted around each square , first in the floral
borders and also in the plain ones.
I then added some hand quilting, using a variety of
threads .....
The winter sunshine played pretty shadows across it as
I stitched!
Of course it was appropriate to use a doily as a label!
"Faded Love" finishes at about 60" by 70"
Happy days!

Beautiful quilt! What a great way to use the older embroideries, happy stitching
Love it! Glad you got it photographed before this awful week coming along. It's been vile here and I've a few old quilts I've finished that I want to take photos of outside and listening to the weather right now, we have minor flood watch warnings on the eastern side of Melbourne. Oh dear, it has been a long winter. Take care & hugs. I'll email later today.
I think I have just picked up a bit of inspiration. I have a number of "gifted" large floral prints that might go well together with some fussy cutting and a frame. Lovely!
Beautiful finish and perfect name. I really love the vintage feeling of the whole quilt.
This is such a lovely finish. You have combined the doileys and fabrics beautifully and I do like the combination of hand and machine quilting.
I love the name, and I love the work that went into this to highlight these gems from the past!
It turned out beautifully and I love the new name.
Hi Suz,
this is a nice name for this wonderful quilt.
Have fun with it

Lovely photos Suz. I love how you have framed each of these sweet vintage finds with the florals, and as I commented on IG, such a delighful way to reuse those doilies. Great idea to mix hand & machine quilting too. Is this one a keeper?
