My process!

With only two WIP's waiting in the wings to be

quilted,

it was time to start something new!

I have had the "Bessie Creek Rd." by Emma

@Treehouse Textiles for a few months now!

Available here

I seem to be drawn to 6" blocks, made from my

favourite rainbow palette!

I think I was drawn to the medallion style of this one!

While I love the spiral-bound booklet (above),

I made my own version where the line drawings,

templates and coloured photos were all together.

I generally do not need the construction diagrams...

I'll start prepping these tomorrow!

Not all blocks are machine pieced, but as I am busy

in the evenings with my knitting, I started with those.

12 Hour Glass blocks...

8 Cross blocks...

And today I completed 16 Mitred Square blocks

I did follow the instructions on how to piece this one,

for the sake of accuracy....

Now to cut 216 two and a half-inch squares for the

Nine Patch blocks!

I'll try to keep you updated as I make progress with

this one!

Happy sewing!

Suz

That looks wonderful Susan! I have the pattern for some time now as well, but there are too many WIP’s waiting...

OMG!!! That is going to be some quilt. All that teeny tiny stuff too & the fussy cutting. Can't wait to see more progress. Is that our Bessie Creek Road just out of Pakenham at the Nar Nar Goon off ramp? The designers name doesn't ring a bell with me. Take care, stay safe & hugs. Isn't our weather weird at the moment?

At first glance I thought the photo of all the Hour Glass blocks was a very complicated star block under construction, then I took another look and realised you had arranged them all like that, love all the colours and fabrics you are using, this is going to be a lovely quilt. I do like a pattern in spiral bound book form, much easier to flip through.

What a wonderful design. Love the way the blocks are combines together. Some of those blocks could stand alone in a quilt.
Look forward to seeing your progress.

Well I'll say you love a medallion block! This one looks like a doozy. But you're tackling it the right way, one block at a time. Your version already looks like it will be a bright, happy riot of color, and I think that's much better than boring old neutrals. Now don't rush! Enjoy the process.

You have such a fun mix of colours that even though the pattern colouring calls to me... I think your version is smashing!! And what flat and even y seams! Look forward to seeing more of this one as it grows.
