Snug as a bug...

is finished!

This project was started back at the beginning of
2016.

My daughter-in-law bought the yarn back from New York.

It was all different ply and that was the first difficulty!

Jenny kindly offered to knit some squares but her tension was different to mine too!

I ended up having to re-knit a number of squares....

I wish I had made them all with a garter stitch border, to give them more stability and uniformity!

I backed it with some aqua double gauze.
which gives it a very soft and cuddly feel!

But it is finished now, in time for our first cold snap of the year.

Snug as a bug in a rug!

Happy days,

SUZ

I saw several pics of this in different places lately. My first impression: that is a LOT of work. I have played with the idea of making a similar aphgan in crochet. I have a book that "Shows" (not really) how to use up your bits and pieces of all weights while making a much-loved work of art. Love the gauze on the back. I love the weight of yarn, but my sensitive skin itches. That is a great solution. Oh, in case it wasn't clear, Love your project!

I loved that last picture, a visual representation of a grandmother's hug for her newest grandchild. Perfect use for that gift of yarn. I'm totally impressed with your different patches of different stitches--some are quite ornate and intricate, and are fun to look at. Congratulations on this lovely finish!
