A Hidden Agenda!

I was thrilled when I was chosen to pattern test for

Angela Pingel.

I have been a fan for many years!

And her new pattern seemed right up my alley....

Varied blocks, lots of colour and fussy cutting!

I immediately started scrambling through my stash

 for the perfect fabric!

I had hoped all my Heather Ross fabrics might have

worked,

but because the pattern called for 12" fussy cuts

'on point', I just didn't have enough fabric!

So I settled on my Cotton and Steel stash,

something which I'd added to during a "Quilty

Wishes" swap last year!

I spent two days cutting out all the pieces,

and waited a few days for some extra fabric to arrive.

Then the piecing of the Square in a Square and

Pinwheel blocks!

I laid out all the blocks on Sunday and started

sewing and 'voila'!

It was finished!

I love how it turned out!

There is so much to look at,

especially those cute teddy bears!

And the colours are so rich and bold!

It's a great pattern, well written with clear diagrams.

If you have some precious fabrics you are waiting to

fussy cut, this may be the pattern for you!

Just maybe I could have moved those horse blocks apart!

Happy sewing!

SUZ

Looks wonderful! I love all the bears, and the rabbits, and oh, was that a bit of a fish swimming by too?

It's wonderful and those horses are just fine where they are! Their closeness adds to the charm of your already charming quilt. Great fabric choices.

Super job, Susan. A real winner of a quilt!! You excel at handling complex fabric patterns and making them coalesce nicely. You were perfect for this task!

What a great pattern. I love how it has an impovy vibe. Your fabric selection is perfect. Makes me want to make one too :-)

Well you have a MUCH better stash for this sort of thing than I do! I have no Heather Ross fabrics, and maybe a couple scraps of Cotton and Steel. I guess I haven't gravitated toward designs with characters on them. Your quilt turned out cute! It is small? Looks like a baby size. Is that what you'll do with this one? Give it to a baby? I'm happy for you to have had a testing opportunity. It's a fun way to try a new pattern before anyone else, right?

As much as I love Heather Ross, I can see why the Cotton & Steel fabric pull was the one to choose for this pattern. Such whimsical fun!
