Drawstring bags!

I made a couple of drawstring bags for Eli today!

I followed my favourite tutorial found here to make

the smaller one.

To make the larger one I increased the

measurements to this:

Main outer: 14 1/4" by 12 1/2" x2
Accent outer: 4 1/2" by 12 1/2" x2
Lining: 18" by 12 1/2" x2

I'm recording them here so I have them for future

I'm making plans for this;

there is definitely a dress and quilt earmarked for

Happy sewing!

Nice bags!
Is that Gertrude Made barkcloth? You will have lots of fun with that. I wonder which will be the dress.

I love the bags you made for your grandson. My grandson loves the bags I make for him. He puts his treasures in them. So much fun to have a 3 year old around. Can't wait to see the dress you will make out of the pretty fabrics.

Definitely love the bags, and wish I had a little one to make them for. You will enjoy teaching him to put things away in it. As for your fabrics... you definitely came across a real "find!" What a haul for you! I know you're thinking of making a merino dress, but are you planning a barkcloth quilt too? I wonder what that would feel like. I just keep picturing skirts and dresses. All of them made by GertrudeMade are SO gorgeous! I'm generally not a "flower person," but I completely appreciate the femininity of these prints. Enjoy cutting into them!

The bags are a fun idea. Children love to collect things in them and cart them everywhere. Gorgeous fabrics in the bags. And it looks like more gorgeous fabrics in your plans!
