It's always fun to look back over a year to see
what's been achieved.
Of my top five blog posts, "A Wild Ride" featured in
two of them, as did my Jen Kingwell 'wrap-up'.
The scrap busting method I used to create this quilt
was in the top 5-
My first finish for 2017- "Stacks" - was #5...
Strangely, my most 'liked' quilt on Instagram,
"Dream Catcher"...
"Dream Catcher"...
didn't feature at all!
One thing I did notice, the readership of my blog has seriously fallen away this year, but comments have stayed much the same.
I made a collage of some of my favourite quilt
finishes and WIPs....
finishes and WIPs....
with plenty to work on in 2018!

I love seeing your wonderful quilts again, they really are a treat for the eyes. I find it hard to believe that your readership is down. The one thing I can say is that for some reason earlier this year I wasn't receiving your posts in my feed and may have fallen from your subscribe list and couldn't re-subscribe so I have you on my blogger feed. So maybe this happened to others. I just took a look at one of your earlier quilts "Sugar Pop" and I have all of Aneely Hoey's fabric. I may have to copy your quilt. Thanks for always being my blog mentor and an inspiration; I look forward to being amazed in 2018.
You are way ahead of me when it comes to finishes. I love that scrap buster. I have a tin of 2-inch blocks that maybe I could use in a similar way. Thanks for another year of inspiration.
Hello Suz,
I am always visiting your blog, but not commenting a lot. I like your work and the "Dream Catcher" is wonderful!
Happy New Year from Germany, Doris :o)
You have been much more productive than me! Well done. My favourite is still your dreamcatcher quilt. It's lovely! Happy New Year! Lynne.
Wow...great quilts this year and have enjoyed reading along all year. Not sure if not responding to some posts looks like a down readership but have read them right along and enjoyed them all.....thanks
Thank you Suz for a year of inspiration. I love your quilts, especially the "Dream Catcher." I studied each of your posts multiple times. I wanted to make the "Dream Catcher" quilt for a friend but it just didn't fit her style. I am making it for myself. Your blog is rich in ideas and inspiration. I appreciate your kindness and generousity.
A year with more beautiful quilts.......blogging sure isn't like it used to be but I will not stop and go to other stoicism media's...... It just has its own special place and hitting like is boring and lacks interaction with others which is why I love blogging.........
A few of the blog readers I use dropped some of the blogs I read, so maybe that's why? I'm just happy to have long-form pieces to read about quilting, so keep it up for your fans. (I'm a fan)
I loved seeing a review of your quilts, and it reminded me of how much I love your style of patchwork--the style, the way you choose your fabrics, the quilting. Keep up the good work!
Two of my favorite quilts of yours are Dream Weaver and the Chuck Nohara quilt. I love both of them a lot but you have some other really beautiful quilts you have made. Hope you have a Happy and Prosperous New Year. :)Frieda
I loved all your quilt finishes for this year and always read your posts - Happy New Year from England :)
I may not have commented very often but have enjoyed reading your blogs through the year. Out of all the social media I enjoy blogs the most, I enjoy IG but find it takes a bit too much of my time. Hope you have had a lovely Christmas and your hand is healing up nicely all ready for the new year.
Beautiful finishes, I love the use of color in all of your quilts. Thanks for linking up and I hope you have a wonderful new year!
You had some really lovely finishes this year!
Thanks for sharing your favourites. I love lots of colour and your quilts are happy! (I love the dreamcatcher!) Have a happy and healthy 2018.
I love your finishes -- love the way you put color together! Thanks for sharing!!
I'm so glad, Susan, that the comments you receive on your blog posts haven't fallen away like your readership has. Perhaps you'll take comfort in knowing that my blog readership dramatically dropped in 2017. It was really strong in January, February, and March, and then REALLY tapered off. Was it something I said?! I know you've thought about not blogging. I do want to continue because I also blog about personal things that I know will be in the book for my grandchildren to read someday. And, for me it would be tough to give up blogging after nine years! I definitely enjoyed seeing your 2017 projects wrap-up. Your scrap-busting quilt is a favorite, that is... until I saw your greens solids-only piecing. I still have a thing for solids.
Lovely post & I find blogging can be very hit & miss with all the other media types these days. With this ,ink pRty I've found a few new blogs to interest me, so maybe you'll pick up a few more followers. I love Jen Kingwells designs, but never attempted one. Take care.
I thought my blog readership had dropped this year becasue I had dropped the ball on posting things. Could Instgram and other stuff be taking over?
I can understand a Wild Ride's popularity, but Dream Catcher's missing the top 5 is baffling!
I absolutely love the dream catcher, it's amazing.
All great projects from 2017. Here's to a wonderful 2018.
Lovely to have another look at some of your projects for the year and enjoy them again.
Your comment regarding followers seems to be a bit of a trend everywhere. People are choosing other forms of social media. But remember - quality, not quantity!
Happy New Year.
Your quilts are gorgeous. I love them all! Happy New Year :)
Simply gorgeous! I love your quilts and can't wait to see what you're coming up with in 2018 :-)
