My tennis commitments are over....
and I am happy to see the back
of the 40+ C temperatures....
My son stopped by the turnstiles and took my photo! |
I did sneak in some hand sewing preparation......
I ordered the wrong size template for the pre-cuts I had- Ugh! |
before I jump on an aeroplane to
Adelaide in the morning!
And I might have started a new baby quilt....
I hope this doesn't look grey- it is green! |
from a sweet mini charm pack!
That will all have to wait until I am back in a week!
If you follow me on IG you may see some of the
Tour Down Under....
Until then....

I've watched some of the tennis on TV and have been wondering about how anyone copes with those hot temperatures - and you are smiling so cheerfully! The sewing projects look lovely.
I didn't realise you were working at the Open. Is it like the Olympics volunteer system or do they give you some fabric money? Did you get to see a game.
I hope Adelaide has cooled down a bit for you, it would be hard work cycling in those 40 degree temperatures. Lots of cool chardonnay would be required.
Beautiful picture! Such a cute rabbit! Enjoy your trip!
Have a great week away! The baby quilt looks great and the sage green is a pleasant surprise.
It's fun to see you dressed in your blues. Your new baby quilt is going to be gorgeous, beautiful fabrics!! Have fun at the tour down under!
I don't envy you, outdoors in that heat. I've been cowering inside on our hot days.
Fun times! Have a good time away!
Have a nice holiday, and the sewing projects look beautiful.
Have a great time! Love the looks of those little projects.
Fun projects! I've been reading about your heat. Yikes!
Your blog looks great!
Enjoy the tour our weather is much nicer now. It would have been nice to catch up for a coffee but as Tony starts round 2 of chemo this morning I am not committing to any thing.
Im very pleased to hear you survived the heat, and I hope Adelaide doesn't get too hot while you are there.
The baby quilt fabrics are really pretty.
a great photo of you at the tennis :-) Have a wonderful holiday and looking forward to seeing some of those hexies made up when you get back! So happy to see you feature on Sew Mama Sew this week too :-)
That's a terrific photo of you, smiling, in spite of the horrid heat! Your hand projects look lovely, and I hope you can make the hexes work, since you've got all those precuts.
My neighbor across the street is from Australia, and he said his mother, who lives in the Bush, was experiencing those high temps. I told him about you working the courts and the Open in the heat.
Glad things are cooling down a bit--have a nice trip!
Elizabeth
Hope you're having fun.
Oh, a hexie project....you have me curious! Enjoy your vacation, Suz.
Have a safe and productive flight!
I have no idea how you managed to cope with the heat. Enjoy your break and have fun with the projects.
Enjoy the tour. I hope the weather treats you a little more kindly than the tennis week.
Ohhh! Sorry about the hexies! I love the start of the baby quilt...so precious! And I can't wait to see the tour on IG! Yay! It is all cold and snowy here so some sunshine will be a nice change of pace!
Thanks for the check-in Susan! Nice to see what you've been up to (though I did see a lot of it on IG as well!).
I hope whatEVER you are doing, you are having a nice time.
What a darling photo if you! Your son is a good photographer. I sure hate it when I'm trying to prep something for a trip, and it doesn't come together properly. Were you able to travel with some handwork? Now have a lovely time away. I hope you're watching bicycling and not having to DO it!
Good for you for hanging in there with the heat - we are at the total opposite end of the thermometer and freezing... Your projects are beautiful - that baby quilt will be so delicate. Love it.
