I enjoyed EVERY minute of making this pinafore!
While the pattern was pricey, the fabric was free!
So no complaints there!
The instructions are clear and detailed.
The tailoring details were time-consuming but very
enjoyable to achieve.
It was great to focus and concentrate on new skills.
I had hoped to use my Juki's twin needle but due to
lockdown, couldn't leave the house to shop for thread.
Or buttons!
So eventually I found these cool hand made Liberty
ones.
Maybe they don't exactly match the lining but I'm ok
with that!
You get a better idea of the finishing details here....
I am really looking forward to breaking out and
wearing this!

Your pinafore is so fantastic and such a versatile piece. Patterns are so expensive these days - often costs me more for a pattern than fabric when I'm making something for the grandbabies.
How fun! Isn't it self-satisfying to make a garment that comes together quickly (faster than making a quilt) and has the reward of being USEABLE in a public way?! Love it! And I love how all of us are finding ways to "make do" with what we have as when you used the thread and buttons you already had. Okay... I'll share with you what my next garment will be. Looks great, where it at home during lockdown, nice to dress up for day. I wore my new dress at home the other week. I am compiling quite a sewing room shopping list for when I get my freedom again.
I so love this jumper! I think your details on the inside bring quality to the whole project, finished off with those beautiful buttons. I do love that you have pockets--how can we ever carry around our phones without pockets? Congratulations on a wonderful finish, Susan. Bravo!
