I really should finish this quilt.
but I am not ready to commit all that time into
basting, quilting and binding in the lead up to
Christmas.
So I decided I wanted to make some
Trixie Zipper Pouches.
pattern available here, if you want to make one or
two or twenty of your own!

It takes more time to choose fabric, trim and quilt
the fabric than it does to construct them.
The last one took me a little over an hour to make!
And that's doing some final hand stitching inside
rather than forcing ten+ layers of fabric
through the machine and risking all sorts of mishaps!
I stopped, for the moment, at four!
Mr PnP went for a little road trip as soon as work
finished.
The silos north of Benalla had been on my 'must-see'
list for some time.
This beautiful painting (below) is in a church.
in the town of Goorambat.
This one dedicated to those who have fought in wars.
And this one in honour of GJ Coles, the founder of
Coles stores here in Australia.
And this Christmas tree is tucked away in an alley in
Chiltern...
And one last thing...

The little zip pouches are lovely. I think a road trip might be in order for us too. We've seen some of the others in Western Victoria, but hadn't realised there were any near Benalla. Your Trixie pouches are adorable! Between you and PinkadotQuilts, I've been sorely tempted to make some. But, thankfully, I don't need any last minute Christmas gifts. The four people receiving your four zip pouches will be four happy people! Love seeing those painted silos. There's no such thing (that I know of) here in the US. What thoughtful subject matter is chosen. I love them, and that colorful Christmas tree! I hope you get to spend at least some hours with your family, over Christmas.
Must mention that as of mid-December, I am no longer able to comment on your blog post using my MacBook computer. I can comment only via my iPhone. For some reason, Safari (the search engine I use) will not recognize my Google account, even though I am logged in. I can only comment on Blogger's sites that have the extra security, where the commenter has to choose pictures using a specified item. Sigh. I wish these IT people would just leave well enough alone! All their "improvements" make it more difficult for end-users. Just wanted you to know, in case your comments fall off. Could be that other commenters are having the same difficulty trying to comment.
I just love those zip pouches. I'm not very good about making non quilt things but have recently decided I need to consider other items to make in order to help use my stash. Maybe some of these will help just a little. They look fun and I'm up for easy. I also enjoy when you share the silo art. It's so inspiring to see something that big covered in art. Oh I love those murals on the silos! What wonderful work. Know how you feel about not wanting to tackle a tedious quilting project right now. Just doesn't appeal to me either.
