Sewing time is scarce as the semester comes to an
end.

So when the worst of the grading and reporting was
over, my scrap box was calling me!

started playing ....

In the process, I remembered a quilt I'd made about
eight years ago....

It is such a great scrapbuster
It finishes at 35" square, a good size for a baby play
quilt, I think?
I basted it today, so it's ready to be quilted
tomorrow.

It will then go in the gift cupboard until I find a
suitable recipient!
Do you have a husband that comes home and says,
"Do you have a baby quilt for so-and-so?
It would be nice to "yes" the next time he asks!
Now it's back to that scrap pile....
I have a plan for those too!

Oh how I love a good random scrappy quilt, though I really like how you've color-coordinated this one. So many pretty greens. This is a good quilt to have on hand for when it's needed. Now you've made me think that I simply must get into my scrap bins too. The one that's designated for solid scraps is crammed full.
Yeah for using up your scraps. The random log cabin really works well and I love the color scheme. I really like the first one you made too in reds and pinks with black.
Great use of scraps which I must do too. Love both of the colourways. School breaks up here in Vic. next Friday doesn't it? Sewing is good when cold inclement weather is about & hunkering down inside, though a good bracing walk is refreshing for us too. Take care.

Hi, you are a no-reply commenter so I can’t reply by email. No, the strips are random scraps. I built blocks until they were 7.5” each.
I haven't had an official scrap project this year, but this looks like an ideal option. Is it just an improv type log cabin? Or are there rules to its construction?

Love your random scrappy log cabin quilt! All those blues and greens! I have a scrap quilt in the works, but it’s not random and it makes me overthink the placement of the fabrics too much. I think it would be a great exercise to make a random one!
