And the finishes keep coming!
But this one was two years in the making, so I hope
it was worth the wait!
My Delilah quilt, designed by Jen Kingwell and
offered as a "Template of the Month" in 2017, has
over 1650 pieces.
Blocks measure between 12" and 3".
Of some designs there are two blocks, others as
many as nine!
I was thrilled to find a fabric that worked so well
as a backing!
And being from my favourite fabric store,
Darn Cheap, it didn't break the bank!
I had an extra helper with my photo shoot this
morning.....
The grey binding was from Emma Jean Jansen's
"Classics" range, Bushsticks in Silver.
I love how the sun came shining through this
photo.... totally unexpected!
I spent one-month hand quilting "Shadows Of Love".
What will I do in the evenings now?
Maybe its time to pick the knitting up again?

That is a wonderful finish. Such a huge amount of work is involved in this quilt. I was shocked you you told the number of pieces in it. Wow!

This is a stunning quilt.
I really love all your photos. The color palette is great too, very calming. It makes me want to wrap up in that quilt, even if the weather is warm. This is a pattern I have had my eye on for a while. But I really should finish "Circle Game" and "4 O'Clock in Peru" first

The making of your Delilah quilt has inspired me although not to undertake another Jen Kingwell quilt but your fabric choices. I love them, especially the teal and coral which thanks to you I've made two quilts last year with these colors. Happy finish, love and quite jealous of the beautiful weather and location you were able to take these wonderful photos. This is the time of year in my part of the country where outside photos are hit or miss.
This is a spectacular finish and a wonderful photo shoot too. So much work but definitely worth the wait :)

It was worth the wait, Susan. Finishing this must give you a real sense of accomplishment.
It is starting to cool down and look a bit more like knitting weather, I think.
Our local equivalent to Darn Cheap closed down. It is a good thing that I have several years worth of fabric to sew in my cupboard, right?

I love that you finished this quilt and have such a great landscape in which to photograph it, plus a great little guy to included in the photo. This quilt is really stunning--so much piecing and so much work to get the blocks done! And then you hand-quilted it; oh, my, but what a treasure. Will it remain with you, or head out into the world? Congratulations on another beautiful finish!
Delilah looks gorgeous, well worth all the effort you have put into it, you must be so pleased with it. Sometimes I think we must be mad when I see how many pieces if fabric are in some quilts, but it is worth it for the enjoyment we get out of making them.
