Dogs In Sweaters

I purchased the "Dogs in Sweaters" pattern from

Facebook Marketplace a little while ago.....

I had fabric set aside so decided to get going on one

block!

The poor pup doesn't have his bottom constructed

properly here...

And he looks far more distinguished with his spectacles.

I've begun quilting it, to make it into a cushion...

and I am loving how it looks!

This photo (above) better shows the blue of the linen

background.

When I purchased the pattern, along with a couple of

Elizabeth Hartman patterns,

the lady kindly gave me two 'half' size blocks she had

no use for!

I'm in awe of her piecing skills...

These blocks are only 9" by 6", with some teeny tiny

piecing there!

I thought they would make great drawstring bags....

I made my own drawstrings from some leftover binding

strips.

Happy sewing!

Short and Sweet!

I've had a finish this week....

I lightly quilted my Tiger Tales quilt over the course

of the last week,

adding some hand quilting too!

I am happy to be donating this one to a refuge for

domestic violence victims.

The backing came from my stash, the name long forgotten

I hope brings comfort,

just as this cute little dog does.

Happy sewing!

Snoopy!

I went to a dry needle felting class on the weekend!

Who could have guessed that this fluffy pile of

Corriedale wool and a barbed felting needle....

could be turned into these!

My Super Models!

This is the needle used to stab, yes stab the

rolled up wool shape,

until the fibres matt and felt together!

Here are more 'models' and some of the parts ready

to be put together!

More figures made by the teacher

It was great fun, if a little dangerous!

Those barbs are sharp if you talk more than watch...

Here's my Snoopy!

Not bad for my first effort although I think his legs

could be fattened up a wee bit!

And I will leave you with a group shot....

each with their own little personality!

Can you guess which one the teacher made?

I'm going to borrow a book from my library,

search You-Tube,

learn a few more techniques,

and maybe try another one!

Is this something you'd like to try?

Happy days!
