Missing again!

It was my husband's turn to have a break,

so I've been missing from this blog and my sewing

room again!

We stayed at a beautiful B&B in Mansfield

I did manage to finish my Daisy Love Purse from

Treehouse Textiles between my return from Tassie and

my getaway in Mansfield!

I also got some more blocks made for my Bessie

Creek Road quilt.

I'm foundation paper piecing the arcs on these.

While away, I spent many an afternoon stitching more

of these blocks too.

While away I happened upon a small quilt show in a

church.

The ones I really liked were all made by the same girl!

And earlier this week, I was lucky enough to be chosen

to test a new quilt pattern for Freebird Quilting designs...

(based somewhat on the design linked here)

This is the fabric I have chosen to work with....

and the start of what I cut out today.

I managed to get a small part of it pieced...

before it was time to get outside and enjoy the late

Autumn sunshine!

I think that's got me caught up!

I promise not to disappear again....

well, I don't have a holiday planned, at least!

Happy days,

SUZ

Ah! Now you're really finding out what it means to be retired! You can leave and come home whenever you wish (COVID aside), and sometimes not be at home long enough to accomplish anything. Sounds about right. I'm looking forward to some trips in the months ahead, and like you, won't be making or blogging. Looks like you're into quarter circles these days. How fun to be testing one of Carolyn's designs! She sure makes beautiful quilts. Yours is heading that way too. Enjoy sewing!

Hope your break was enjoyable & I only thought of you last week as we passed the Bessie Creek Road sign & wondered how you were getting along with it. A quilt show? Didn't think they were allowed yet, even if small. I loved the ones you showed & hope we see progress reports on what you are doing too. Take care & stay safe.

That’s a great test design. The quilt show looks like fun too.

It has been a great time to get away. The weather has stayed just right for the last few weeks. How lovely to find a quilt show along the way.
Your blocks are looking lovely in all your projects. Gorgeous fabrics and colours. And the one you are testing looks very interesting, too. I have just had a run of sewing curves so I appreciate the work you will be doing on those.

Wow that flower block is heaps of fun... the centre reminds me of a record... very retro looking and it really showcases your fabrics.

Loving your test blocks that I've seen so far, you ahve well and truly mastered curved sewing.

That daisy zippy bag is really cute. It would be fun to make, use up oddments of favourite fabrics and be useful - in other words, a perfect project.
