when you are having fun!
Well, it certainly goes quickly when you are busy!
And I have been very busy with my day job,
so there's not a lot of time left for sewing!
But I am making Barbie a new wardrobe....
First up, a summer frock...
then a pair of smart trousers.
I searched out some free knitwear pattern on
YouTube and used a skein
of sock yarn that was languishing in my stash!
And before I knew it she had a matching skirt!
Now that I have a recipient chosen for this quilt, it's
being basted soon!
I picked up an awesome fabric for backing at Darn
Cheap for $9 a metre!
I'm proud of the (almost) invisible join!
And finally, I quilted up that mini for a sewing
I hope to be back soon with another quilt finish!
Love your Barbie wardrobe and she will be in style for some time with her new cloths. Always nice to get to the quilting of tops and almost close to a finish....happy quilting Suz....
You have some great makes here, Susan! Love Barbie's cute knitted top and skirt. It would take me weeks to knit such a thing! Still it would be nice to have a reason to make some Barbie clothes. My bouffant red-headed Barbie is stored in the top of my closet, with a whole wardrobe of clothes my mother made for her. I would like to have passed her on to a little girl, but alas, no little girls have come into our family. The quilt top you've made is marvelous. I'll be curious to see how you quilt those black pieces. And the backing fabric is not only nice - perfectly-matched from my point of view! - but what a good price! I'm watching for backing for my TulaNova/LindaNova quilt top, and nothing is speaking to me. It's a bit more troublesome to find the right backing fabric for a quilt top with big expanses of white. I sure understand about being busy, as my week has been so too... and that's while being retired! Hang in there. I know you'll have slower days ahead.
Wow...Barbie is better dressed than me. ha ha ha ha
Love that quilt backing and I bet you loved the price as well. I always forget to put my sewing machine cover on, although mine is the one provided by the manufacturer so not very pretty.
You certainly have been busy. Barbie is looking quite fashionable in her new wardrobe.
Love your scrappy quilt Susan, and the back is amazing. A double sided quilt!
Those scrappy quilting projects are such fun! I LOVE your stylish Barbie outfits.
awe! such cute Barbie clothes - well done!
Bet you are counting down the days!!
Barbie is looking delightful in her new outfits. Always fun to make.
And it looks like you have some plans for [project completion very soon. Hope you get the time for them.
It is always reassuring that Barbies head is removable just in case the clothes don't quite fit! Would have made dressing the kids so much easier! 😂
