My "Rollercoaster" quilt has been finished for a
couple of days now....
couple of days now....
Quilted with Aurifil #1231 |
but today the sun came out for me to get some
pretty photos!
I love everything about this quilt, despite it being
started during a rather 'down' time of my life....
hence the Rollercoaster name!
I quilted it with a wavy line,
which you can see quite clearly here...
It's a little like the track a
rollercoaster runs on!
rollercoaster runs on!
I was thrilled to find the backing online,
at a bargain price!
The backing is "Sun-sational" by Maude Asbury |
and the label is bordered with a precious scrap from
a special friend!
I bound it with a white spotted black fabric.
The quilt finishes at approximately 54" X 72",
and is now living happily on the back on my sofa!
Happy sewing!

the highs and lows of a quilt but wow it sure finished on a high and looks great........love taking a quilt for a photo shoot.......not done one for ages.......
I love this quilt! It's so nice to see it finished and quilted--another beautiful quilt made by you. I love the quilting and since you and I have the same sewing machine now, I'm going to have to ask you for some machine quilting tips.
This turned out beautifully!
Nice finish. I love the fabrics you used. Hugs
Such an amazing quilt from such an amazing quilter. I love that quilts can hold the memories of a time and space in our lives -- whether good, bad, up or down -- and think the name is such a perfect moniker for this beautiful quilt. The quilting is perfect, but I love that binding that goes with it! All in all, another fabulous finish (and great label)!
Such a beautiful quilt!!!
I'd call it a Fabulous Finish! Love the quilting. It's a machine stitch, right? The serpentine stitch? Or did you use a walking foot to free motion your own waves. In any case, it suits the quilt. I didn't realize the quilt was therapeutic for you - made during a "down time." I hope that's all behind you now, and that you can enjoy looking at this quilt on the back of your sofa, and cuddling under it.
A wonderful quilt, and your quilting adds heaps of texture! I've enjoyed following your progress with this, such a bright & scrappy quilt! Great pics too!
May it bring to happiness every time you cuddle it!
Thanks Tammy! You are a no-reply blogger' so I am leaving my thanks here!

It's gorgeous! Lovely finish, Susan!
That is really gorgeous. The photos of it are fabulous too.
This is a lovely finish. How wonderful that a sunny day came along for photographs.
Your quilt is gorgeous and the quilting works so well. I love all the different locations for the photos, too.
Congratulations on a great finish.
Yay! Terrific finish. It's funny how with some photo angles you can't even see the quilting, and then BAM - there it is, and so obvious! It will certainly make an eye catching display.
Such a fantastic quilt Susan - I hope it makes you feel fabulously happy.
It is such a beautiful quilt! The colours and binding you chose make it stunning.
Very very wonderful. I see so many of my favorite fabrics in there!!!
That's a great pattern. Lots of colour and movement. Great job. Thanks for linking up with TGIFF.
Beautiful! I love all the colors. Do you have a pattern? It looks like a great way to use up scraps! Thank you for sharing!
It's really lovely--everything about it--the colors, the prints, the design. The wavy line quilting also suits it well. Bravo!!
