Preparing for February...

The Chuck Nohara blocks for February will be...

Elizabeth's picks...

and mine...

 #1024 needed to be enlarged by 170%,

while the others,

 the commonly used 260%. 

Now to decide the best method to construct them...

That's the hard part for me!

And I see some more Glitter blocks in my future too!

This little ruler, which Elizabeth sent me, 

 helps me mark my 1/4" pivot point for the 'y' seam!

Is anyone else making these blocks?

Randomly....

With the Australian Tennis Open in full swing,

Azarenka warming up this morning

there is little time for sewing....

But I thought some of my followers might enjoy a 

snapshot of my last few days....

I have been playing with this pretty "Glitter" block,

from Jen Kingwell's book "Quilt Lovely".

This array of fabric and beads will  be used for my 

"Four-in-Art" project due on 1st February.

The theme is colour, with the sub-theme of 

microscopic!

I spied this 'Double Wedding' patterned vase in a gift 

shop recently.

It seems quilting patterns are everywhere!

And my son and daughter-in-law arrived home

from the States,

with a couple of beautiful gifts for me!

Now what to make from this pretty bundle?

piecing words for a new bee,

the Spelling bee, of course!

gifting a new doorstop...

joining these blocks,

checking they're balanced with a black and white 

photo first-

Yes, I did move a few round!

And making an addition to this travelling PIP's 

block...

my contribution is the top, bottom and left borders.
