I've been renewing my love for watercolour!

But I do have a quilt to share today.
I used one of my trusty Aurifil threads in a pretty
lemon colour.
I love the backing, a length I bought last year from an
Instagram destash.
It's an Art Gallery Fabric by Bari J called "Wild Bloom"
I could easily have this side showing!
I persuaded the quilt-holding husband to accompany
me to the Carisbrook Jail.....
for some photos of "Carisbrook Cabin".
It is bound in a black and white check- bold but I
think it reflects the squares of the log cabin.
The batting was the last of a roll I bought at Spotlight
in 2021 for $60.

That's economical, don't you think?
The jail is a pretty grim place without the rainbow
colours of a quilt to brighten it up!

I love how you take your quilts walkabout for photographs. I'm too lazy to do that with mine. My best efforts would be the swing outside my sewing studio or perhaps a rocking chair on the porch.

That quilt is gorgeous! Love the bright colors you used, and I bet the lemon-yellow thread looks great on it. You picked a good place to take pictures. Indeed, that jail looks like a terrible place to stay - a good reason to be good! Did you do that pear watercolor? My goodness but it's fabulous! Terribly impressive. I remember doing watercolor in high school art class, and being very unsuccessful. I like to dabble and mess and make it just right, which doesn't suit watercolor one bit! It's great knowing you're involved in a variety of creative efforts. Keep having fun with them. And I hope you find another good deal on batting!

Your watercolour pear is fantastic. Gorgeous quilt and that backing fabric is fantastic. You are a woman of many talents.
Does your husband whinge about his sore shoulders if he even looks at a quilt and thinks he may need to hold it? Maybe it's just mine.... LOL
Of course you do watercolors! I have always appreciated your skills in colors, as shown in all your quilts. And now Carisbrook Cabin is a riot of wonderful color! I love the binding (of course) and I think the setting for the photographs was inspired. I look forward to learning more about your new community as you photo more quilts in the wild.
