How is it that retirement makes one busier than ever?
I've been helping out in the garden....
Can you see the little bird there? |
The bottlebrush bushes need pruning after they have
finished flowering, and we have about ten of these in
the garden!
I knitted a cushion cover in some of that rust-coloured wool....
I had left over from my jumper.
Next year we may do one from scratch, not just a kit?
Eli stayed for a few days before Christmas and was keen to sew...
He did all the sewing himself, and I did the cutting and binding!
I've been keen to extend my artistic skills and did
some water colouring.
There was a short free five-day course by Este McCleod
that gave me the incentive to while away a few hours.
Finally, my sister needed some assistance
re-upholstering her favourite occasional chair.
So as the sun begins to set on another year,
I will see you in 2023!
Happy New Year!

Why is it that once retired we often wonder how we had the time to work. You've achieved so much since your last post & how lovely to sew with your grandchild. I've not been good with blogging lately, but hope to get back into it properly by joining in with the Meadow Mist "best of" for the year. Hopefully next year will be a lot better all round. Have a lovely New Year, take care & hugs.
I can’t believe how busy life is in retirement. I expected rocking chairs and nothing to occupy my time. lol. You’ve really accomplished a lot. Love that chair refinished.
Your knitted cushion looks fab with the Xmas quilt in the background and I love the little bird on top of the bottle brush pile - he's looking very comfortable ❤️. Sounds like lots of work having so many!!
Very busy!! Now you realise how much work really did get in the way!!
I think your small makes are all so wonderful! I'm totally impressed with the knitting, as that skill has totally eluded me, an your cushion is lovely. From Christmas ornaments and decorations to upholstering a chair, you have been quite busy. I really like that you had some time to sew with a grandchild -- the best moments, ever. Happy New Year, Susan!
