Moving forward.......

A beautiful Spring sunset

I've made another Lisette top...

This time in a lovely soft double gauze from

Darn Cheap Fabrics.

This one is for my sister.

And every new baby deserves a new quilt.

My daughter-in-law has picked out this pattern.

As the full quilt is about 82" square,

we decided to choose four of our favourite rainforest animals.

I've never made one of Elizabeth's patterns before,

and boy, are they intensive!

Look at all those little pieces in the spider monkey's

face!

Needless to say, the unpicker was given a workout!

While it is a complicated pattern, I am certainly

enjoying the challenge!

Happy days!

The quilt block is fabulous. I have often looked at her patterns and marvelled at them, as a lazy stitcher looking might be all I do.

That's going to be an awesome quilt. I'm doing her dinosaur pattern, finally finished the last dinosaur last night and can't wait to put it all together. Have fun with the rest of the quilt.

The sunset photo is wonderful. Loved it when you sent it through to me.
That is a lovely colour and fabric in the top you have sewn. Lucky sister!
Have fun with the new baby quilt.I have done some of her designs - but only the very simple ones. Fox and cat, I think.
But after all the work it will be gorgeous.

I love that top! I may have to go find the pattern. I love Elizabeth Hartman's pattern...but some of them have such tiny pieces. Good luck.

I just made the Dogs in Sweaters pattern and you sure are right. Lots of little pieces. But it sure is cute.

It's nice to tackle a wee challenge and your finished squirrel monkey did make me smile :)

I am completely impressed that you are sewing one of Elizabeth’s patterns. They are so very cute but so many pieces in her patterns! But I can see you are off to a great start, and you certainly have the skills for that quilt. Love your top—with your weather heating up, it will come in handy for your sister. Happy Quilting!

Wow that sunset sure is stunning! I made a top out of double gauze too, although it was a smooth fabric not a textured one. I see Spotlight have some interesting ones that I would like to check out - I think some nice flowy pants would be good for summer.
