Two for one!

I have two finishes to share today....

This one is pieced by my sister

And hand quilted, mainly by me.

I finished it with binding and a label!

The pattern is available from Treehouse Textiles.

Isn't it pretty?

And the Smorgasbord quilt is 'sort of finished'....

I had to delve deep into my meagre thread stash

to find enough of various colours.

No more pink or mauve!

Now that my sister has provided me with a reel of

mauve,

I can finish it properly!

I had a bit of fun with this label too, finding this food

fabric as a 'nod' to the quilt's name.

Happy sewing!

Clever girls & I love both of them. I'm having fun making labels for my quilts too, many of which still live with me. I'm doing them on the computer which has been a "huge" learning curve, but oh boy, am I having fun. I've 2 baby quilts on the go at the moment, so need to get them done before I start anything else. Hope you are enjoying the weekend, take care & stay safe. Oh, you can now travel up to 25km, but suppose only in Melbourne. Haven't heard the full news yet.

Both quilts are beautiful. I've never made a quilt from only solid colours , I usually mix solids and prints together, but I LOVE your smorgasbord quilt. OH no, something else to add to my quilty bucket list !! How lucky to have a sister who also quilts.

You're sure right! Your sister's quilt is great! Love the variety of prints and colors. And aren't you just the best sister to quilt, bind and label it? I admire how you two can work together, and get along. Not all sisters have such a good relationship. Count your blessings! Your quilt is colorful too! So you changed thread colors as you quilted it? And didn't have mauve? What a lot of extra effort you went to, to make it a perfect finish! It's good to see you making. All. The. Time!

I am so terrible about not putting labels on quilts. I ought to but somehow it never gets done. I admire those of you who do it all the time. Lovely quilts, both of them.

How lovely to have helped finish your sister's quilt. I love that checked binding too. I know you had some ups and downs working on your Smorgasbird quilt but I really like the finished quilt. For me it's not only very colorful, but also has a homey, cozy feel that's perfect for snuggling. Especially for those of us beginning to feel the colder tempts.

Two lovely finishes - or almost finishes on the quilts.
Your sister's quilt looks great. A lovely idea to work on the project together.
And Smorgasbord looks wonderful, too. A lovely combination of colours and blocks.
I agree - your label looks great with all the food items.

I like them both. Two totally different personalities in these quilts. One so floral and romantic, the other solids and modern. Great job!
