Count Your Blessings

and other random ramblings....

I am usually one of few words, here in blog land.

And I'm not sure I can say anything that hasn't already been said about this

 predicament we all living?

I could rant and rave about incompetent administrations, in the government

and

employment but negativity will not help....

So here's my little list of positivity:

Adventure Bear is waiting for this to be over too!

2. Listen to this: Pub Choir

3. Take a class here: Bluprint classes are free until 9th April- knitting, drawing,

quilting, sewing classes. Plenty to inspire you!

I even bought backing (in the centre) before I started this quilt!

4. Watch an uplifting movie.  "The Way", "My Summer In Provence" and

"Roman Holiday"  are all on my list.

SBS here in Australia has them all 'on-demand'.

5. If the weather allows, get out and walk. I'm guessing, when we are on the

other side of this, everyone will need new clothes.

There will be one group who have lost a couple of kilos because they got out for

a dose of vitamin D every day and their 10,000 steps.

The second group will have gained a few because they've binged, boozed and

snacked the days away!

I know which one I'd rather be!

This morning's sunrise

6. Look for opportunities to help one another. If you want to feel good, do good!

7. And of course, it's ok to do nothing. There will be days like that, so be gentle

with yourself, stay connected and rest.

If you're looking for me, I'll be right here working on two new quilts,

This is for a mystery quilt-along on Facebook

and counting my blessings!

OMG, I am loving those fabrics of yours. I've never been big on black and white collections but yours is changing my mind.

Lovely thoughts, Susan. I didn’t know about the free Bluprint, so thank you for that. Funnily, I’ve just read this as I’m on my way out on a brisk power walk. I’m trying hard to be among the first group. The longer this goes on though, the more likely it is that I will join your second group! I’m watching COVID-19 positive tests increase in our city (nearing 30 now), and thinking more often that it’s unlikely I’ll want to travel again, except to visit family, of course. I predict that this event will change our culture in ways we can’t yet imagine. However, quiltmaking will continue; our community is resilient. Be safe.

Thanks for the uplifting post & l"m sure we'll have lows & highs till it's all over. I'm a bit confused with if self-isolation for over 70's means we can't go for a walk around the neighbourhood? Mixed messages seem to be filtering through on other things as well. Thankfully Keith & I have our hobbies. Take care, stay safe & huggles.

Thank you for all those positive suggestions.
And thanks for sharing your fabrics for future projects. They are gorgeous collections.
We are trying to make sure we set a task/focus for each day. It may be to prune a tree or as simple as make phone calls to family and friends. It doesn't matter as long as we have something to work towards. We have also been able to get out each day for a walk and have not run into anyone as yet. Hope it stays that way. I am going to follow a few of the links you have provided. Cheers.

Such great advice. I should have come here instead of hibernating in my corner of the world, trying to cope (and yes, I'm in the second category, but not because of boozing!). You have wise words, as usual. I'm sure you miss your grandchildren, and hope you can see them soon...or get news that you already have! (since I'm going backwards in time). Hugs to you from afar!
