A Roadtrip

Mr PnP and I just returned from a little

Easter/Autumn road trip!

Firstly, the Marimekko exhibition in Bendigo...

a beautiful art show in Castlemaine...

The Silo Art Trail has long been on my 'must-do' list!

 What an achievement!

And it's bringing some much-needed tourism back to

country Victoria.

We then spent three glorious days in Glenelg....

walking the Esplanade each morning!

And along the Torrens river too...

Finally, we did some cycling in the Clare Valley...

with some wine tasting in between!

There was one last silo in Coonalpyn, South

Australia....

For more information go here, or here.

I did sew while being a passenger or in the

evenings...

and have six of these appliqued to the background

squares.

And of course, it's important to have a little souvenir

for my own future quilt....

I'd never seen "Frou Frou" fabrics in real life before!

I'm itching to get back in my sewing room,

with plenty of ideas brewing!

Happy days!

Wow!Look at all that artistic creativity. The silos are incredible! There are few painted water towers near us but the style is less dramatic. Pretty pictures of fishermen and boats etc so nice but certainly different from those. I like the figure on the bench too! The block is lovely - looking forward to the finished quilt. I've never used those shapes!

Looks like you and your husband had an amazing trip! It's still strange to me to see the words Easter and Autumn together ;-) Those art silos are something else! I would love to travel the Silo Art Trail. Thank you for sharing your trip with us!

Looks like a wonderful road trip. Thanks so much for sharing your photos because I love seeing other parts of the world that aren't typical travel pics. I especially love the sculpture and the silos. It's a great idea to use them for art and would be a fun idea for here in the states. There are many silos in the midwest farming communities like I grew up in that mark the horizon of town after town.

What a great trip!
Bendigo somehow seems like an odd location for a Finnish Marimekko exhibition, but what fun!
The silos are stunning, but I am not sure I would ever be able to convince my husband to drive all that way to see them.
We stocked Frou Frou at the shop I worked at. Enjoying playing with your new purchases.

This all looks wonderful. There is so much to see and do. You planned your trip well to catch up with all the displays and the silos. And the weather looks perfect for your time in SA. It is so good to have a break and get away. Hope you have returned feeling refreshed.
So good to fit in some stitching and shopping along the way. The blocks are looking good on their backgrounds.
