I have finished my "Posy Baby" quilt!
(There's still some hand quilting to be added when I took this photo) |
I did some simple "in the ditch"
machine quilting first,
then finished by hand quilting
with Aurifil wool thread!
How did I miss that stray thread? |
The pattern came from Sherri @
"A Quilting Life" blog,
as part
of her Simply Small Projects!
The finished size is about 31" X 36"
It's great to have my first finish for 2014!
Happy days!

Congratulations on finishing such a fabulous quilt!! Is the aurifil wool thread a similar thickness to perle 8? Posy Baby is a great name!
What lovely subtle and gentle colours - gorgeous.
Great design and I love how the quilting sets it off.

Great project and Very pretty! You have a fun blog :)
The hand stitching adds such a nice touch. So pretty!
This is such a sweet baby quilt. I love the soft colors! I have done a couple of projects with wool thread and I love it! One small project, I actually threaded my machine with wool thread and used a metallic needle...longer stitches and stitched slow. It turned out great! Great quilt, Susan!
Beautiful baby quilt! Those colours are adorable and lovely hand stitching!
Love all that hand stitching!
Another great finish! The dragonfly border is just too cute.
So soft and pretty and I always think hand quilting is the icing on the cake
I love this so much! I think that I'm going to use this same pattern for my stack of Posy. Now to find the time! :)
You did it! I knew you would. I love the touches of hand quilting. And the backing is just perfect. So soft and pretty.
How cute!
Lovely!
My Posy cushion is sitting beside me screaming to be finished!!!
This is such a great pattern. Love the fabrics.

It's a really pretty quilt and the hand stitching makes it extra special.
so pretty :-) I love the extra hand quilting - extra special touch.
A very sweet finish indeed. I love those Posy prints.
The other day I bought one of those tiny Moda square packs (having too much fun in l'uccello). I need cute ideas like this for what to do with it!
It's lovely, congratulations on your first finish of the year.
A really nice finish.
Congratulations on your first finish of the year! Love the hand quilting!
This is one of my favorite fabric lines.....especially love the minty green. Lovely, sweet little quilt!
I just finished a posy baby quilt too. The fabrics are so perfect for a baby. Yours is lovely.
What an adorable quilt, Susan! Your fabric/color choices are out-of-the-norm for a baby quilt, so that makes it really refreshing. Love it! I like how you've machine and hand quilted... showing off several of your talents at once! Hope you're finding the sewing time that you want, now that you're back to school.
Cute and looks like it's fun to make!!
