WiPs Wednesday...rather late!

I have made some progress on my

"Birds of A Feather" quilt!

The backing is pieced....

The siggy blocks have been placed to reflect

the placement of the feathers on the front of the quilt!

The blank spaces are for my details-

I pieced three feathers of my own!

The other blank space is for Carla- she made two!

And the scrappy binding is made too!

My Christmas Reindeer are nearly finished...

In fact, I have only one more to go!

Finally I did have a chance to play with

my new fabric!

And it does play together so nicely!

Happy sewing!

Woohoo! Those signature blocks look terrific, and I loved their aqua sashing. I have no idea how to use mine, so am collecting ideas--yours is definately one of them.

Beautiful backing!

Love how you've placed the signature blocks in the backing. Wow you've almost finished your Christmas reindeer and I haven't even started. (I think there is a recurring theme there!)
Love love the colours of the HST's.

I am really loving those feather quilt colours. That dark turquoise/teal is such a nice colour, and the orange is a great pop. Looking forward to seeing it when it's done!

Wow! Your back looks great! You are so good at planning things out...no haphazard piecing going on here! Your reindeer are so cute. I am a sucker for red and white. Isn't new fabric fun?

Look at those happy HSTs! They're just so cheerful.

And the binding...it's going to take the quilt to another level. Can't wait for the finish reveal!

what a great idea to place the siggies to reflect where the feathers are placed. You are working away and getting a lot accomplished

Love the colours - and what a beautiful block design! Love the simplicity of it

You chose a great layout for signature blocks, not only to mimic the feathers' placement on the front - how DID you keep track of whose feather was whose?! - but just how you sashed them together. It's really nice to see progress (already) on blocks from this year's bee. Good on you!

I so admire that you are finishing up this quilt so quickly, Susan. And I am equally impressed with our grand idea for the placement of the siggy blocks. You are in inspiration...and love your new "play time" project!!

A very productive and fun time. I like how you are arranging the siggy blogs to show who pieced which feather. Now you can thoroughly enjoy working with you new fabrics....
