Welcome to Melbourne Town.....
I stalled somewhat completing this piece....
It was barely 4" by 7" after all!
I auditioned the four arcs and didn't really like how
this one looked...
It seemed to get lost and look a bit mushy!
I'm much happier with the pink one!
So that's it...
I declare Melbourne Town ready for quilting!
It deserves hand quilting, I suppose?
Happy sewing,
SUZ

It's gorgeous! It has been such fun seeing this grow and come together. Melbourne town looks such a lively, vibrant place - I think I'd like to live there ;-) Lynne.
Amazing!! It all looks perfect and such a cheery town!
wow! your town turned out great
This is such a fun pattern. Your Melbourne town looks wonderful. And yes, handquilting will be nice.
Wow, you are finished already and it looks fantastic! Yes handquilting would be lovely.
Well this IS amazing! Just beautiful. I agree the hand-quilting would make this one super special.
Bravo!! A standing ovation from over here. It's gorgeous Suz!
Totally gorgeous xxx
Absolutely awesome Suz!! Of course it should be hand quilted, and Melbourne's winter is a good time to get cosy with a quilt while hand quilting.
A lovely finish, I like the change to the pink, the other one was definitely a bit lost in there. Hand quilting will be great, the small size of the quilt will make it fairly portable as well.
Wow! This reminds me of every time I've visited Melbourne! Vibrant, artwork everywhere, buildings old and new, even Ballooning overhead the last time I was there! And of course the chance of rain! Your umbrella sitting there illustrates this perfectly! Its very different from my hometown Perth. I love working on smaller projects they somehow give more satifaction, do you think? You've done a wonderful job on this very difficult project. Around the internets it is talked of as "challenging" and 'not for the faint hearted"!.
Definitely the pink arch. Melbourne Town looks great and most deservedly needs hand quilting.
Fabulous!
Oh this is the most beautiful creation I have seen in ages! Amazing work Suz, and I love the pink half dresden. Hand quilting it must be!
How delightful!! It must have been hard to put it down!
This is super gorgeous
Love it!!! Naturally, I vote for hand quilting. But no matter what style of quilting was used on this, it would still shine very, very brightly.
Beautiful! Looking forward to seeing your quilting.
How amazing. This is a wonderful finish. It is great to see all the sections together and finished. I would never have selected pink for that last arc and yet when I see it in place it looks just right! It looks like you have had a lot of fun with the fussy cutting and the embroidery. Enjoy the quilting.
Truly, this is a masterpiece, Suz! Wonderful Ta-Da!!!
Wow! Fabulous! You nailed it...I can't imagine putting all those pieces together! But you did it...and did it well!
Oh my, Susan! This is wonderful! It's great to see the whole thing with your good photos. I can appreciate the "mushiness" that seems to happen if one isn't careful about picking out the "right" prints. I'm learning from you - and your great email, thank you! - and will try to put all your tips into practice. I'm just beginning Section 3. Knowing you, yours will be hand quilted (fabulously) before I'm done with the next section. Beautiful work, Susan. Thanks so much for sharing.
Just lovely! Thanks for sharing your ideas and setbacks and insights for this project as I will use those when I make my version of this quilt. It helps to have someone who has paved the way and is willing to share their process instead of just a perfect, finished quilt.
Wow! I love it. All the details are fabulous. Great job!
It looks fantastic. Hand quilting for sure.
I love it! I bet you can't stop looking at it. I also vote for hand quilting :)
This is absolutely amazing! Congrats on such a beautiful finish :)
Great choice with the pink ... happy hand quilting!
Yes, definitely hand quilting. Having seen it up close now, I know just how special it and all its tiny pieces are!
I LOVE your little town quilt. So many special touches. I didn't jump into this but am enjoying seeing what you all are doing.
I love everything about this. The colors are fabulous, and your pictures are amazing. Now I'm a little sad that I didn't join this quilt-along.
Way to finish Susan!! It's a splendid Melbourne Town with so much visual interest. I have enjoyed watching your progress on this.
I'm so impressed. You did a beautiful job.
Love it so much.... I just got to know I'm going to get a copy... So this one will be on my todo list later on... It looks so much fun to make... Yours are the prettiest!
You amaze me. Not only on the teaching school, doing tennis, going on bike rides and finishing quilts aspect, but also on the piecing of this little treasure! I'm stuck at section 3, and had hoped to get going on more this week (certainly inspired by your example). Bravo!!
Elizabeth
Your Melbourne town is amazing!
Your Melbourne town is so pretty. Would you be interested in parting with your magazine with the pattern long enough for me to quilt my own Melbourne town.
