Hey True Blue....
Firstly, I really enjoyed reading all your 'horror' mail
stories as part of my giveaway!
I don't expect all my readers to know this song.....
but the stars have aligned...
to chose the winner of my "True Blue" giveaway!
Deborah is a true blue Aussie living overseas!
And a very deserving winner of my giveaway!
The fabric will be in the mail early next week,
when I get your snail mail address Deb.

Scraptastic Tuesday!
I had recovered from my recent illness
and wanted to sew....
But I could not face basting my
Shelburne Falls flimsy,
So, as all good quilters do, I started something new!
In an effort to cull my fabric stash I joined in
Scraptastic Tuesday,
hosted by Leanne and Nicky!
And made one of these....
And now I have two!
This is what I have chosen for Flower #3
These really are 'scraptastic' blocks!
Foundation piecing always leaves totally
unusable scraps,
so I don't feel guilty about throwing them away!
PS- It's not too late to enter my giveaway,
for this….
details here...
Happy sewing!

Where is Anguilla?
In the Caribbean, apparently!
My latest fabric parcel had a stopover there, on it's
way to me here in Australia!
P&B Textiles have kindly sent me
one fat quarter bundle
to play with....
And another one to giveaway!
So if you live in Anguilla would like a chance to win
this,
please leave a comment on this post,
telling me about the weirdest place your mail ended
up!
I sent a parcel to Morocco once and it was returned
to me
three months later because no one was home to sign
for it!
Now I'm off to play...
I'll pick a winner in a week!
(This giveaway is now closed...)
Happy sewing!

Despite all good intentions, my holiday sewing plans
were curtailed by three days in bed!
So nothing much new to show....
except some shopping and planning
Thanks Suz for your fabric contributions! |
some more hexies-
some hand quilting-
and one new block!
This block is one real scrap buster!
I think I need to make some more....
Happy sewing!

I'm published!
My project is in the October edition of
"Homespun" magazine!
Oakshott Scraps from my friend Cindy @Live A Colorful Life |
I first received an email from the editor early in
November 2013!
Yes, that was eleven months ago!
I redesigned a block from an
old quilt blocks book-
The block was called "Dusty Miller".
I made some subtle changes
and used modern day
and used modern day
foundation piecing techniques!
Oh, that's blurry! |
I echo quilted around the design,
And I forgot to take any photos of the finished item
before I sent it off in March!
before I sent it off in March!
Nearly perfect points! So here are some photos from the magazine! If you decide to make my block or bag, I'd love to see it! |
I think a series of these blocks would make a great
quilt too....
And as extra encouragement, I am happy to send a
copy of the magazine to one of my faithful followers!
If you have left a comment on my blog in the last six
months, and would like a copy,
leave me a comment on today's post-
tell me how you'd make my Dusty Miller block more
YOU!
