I.B.B.B

that stands for Itty Bitty Block Book!

About 3 years ago I belonged to a Flick'r group

where we made and traded 3.5" 'themed' blocks....

"Pirate" theme
This week I decided it was time to make something

with them!

I initially thought I'd make mini quilts, but really

I have enough of these....

Polaroid Calendars
Four years ago I made a fabric "Colour" book for a

friend's little girl...

So that's what I have made this time!

I bordered sets of four blocks with an inch of fabric,

sandwiched them with some batting,

made a patchwork cover...

And voila!

An Itty Bitty Block Book!

The detail in some of these blocks is amazing.

Here are some of the "Black and White" set

and "Pirates",

 and "Bird Houses"....

With a fabric square to make up the numbers!

I don't have a recipient in mind for this.

It is so pretty, I might just have to keep it myself!

Happy sewing!

Inspiration in Arles...

I have always loved this photo of window shutters I took last year in Arles!

So I have used it as the inspiration for the "Aurifil-Make a Designer Collection"

Competition over at Lily's Quilts

I love the subtlety and delicacy of this range of colours!

And onto other matters.....

I have made some more Bitty Blocks...

No, not volcanoes erupting!

Little Black Dresses- foundation pieced

and....

Birdhouses!

I had great fun improvising with these!

There is also a baby quilt on the drawing board!

I hope to have it ready to show you in a few days time!

What have you got on the drawing board?

Happy sewing!

Flitting.....

from one thing to the next!

Some paper piecing....

..with some neckline variations!

for my Bitty Block Committee blocks this month...

Black, White and a Touch of Hot Pink!

Another "Jazz Hands" EPP Block is finished.....

Three in three months, so I'm still on target for 12 in a year...

although I'm thinking the hexagons will need breaking up with something else?

Strips....triangles?

And I completed a couple more Pickle Dish arcs.....

And my weekend also started with some happy mail....

My mini in the FLiQS from 'quiltinkimmie' in the United States....

with some cute little owls!

I'm aiming to find some serious sewing time this week to set in the diamonds of

the "Summer Stars" quilt...

Check back soon!

Happy days!

Bitty Pirate Blocks!

I have recently joined a new swap on Flick'r!

It's called the Bitty Block Committee!

There are themes each month which, if they appeal, you sign up for.

The blocks are all three and a half inches, and you make one for each person in

your group!

Pirates was the first theme I opted for...

Little did I know how high the standard would be!

Look at this amazing pair of pirate art!

And this incredible detailed bitty block!

I'm going to make a cute mini for a little pirate friend!

Happy sewing!
