Plan Bee!

Well, there was no Plan A!

This, however, is the plan for my turn for the

Mid-Century Modern Bee...

a paper pieced AMH Feather!

I made one last year and loved how it looked!

And it has been on my 'to-do' list all year....

Once I had this colour palette in my mind....

but so few of the fabrics to make it with,

I decided to enlist the help of my bee buddies!

So sure I was of making this quilt, I had bought 3+

yards of background solid...

(but have no idea of its name/shade!)

It is somewhere between a grey and a beige.

I cut and sent a piece to all my ladies,

with two little parcels

taking less than four days

(Melbourne to California)

to get there!

So now I am asking for one feather,

foundation pieced to

save on fabric, using this tutorial!

In fact, Linda has already made one!

Thank you Linda- its perfect!

Here's one I made earlier.....

I am really loving being the Queen Bee of May!

Happy sewing!

Remembering...

As today was Anzac Day, when we remember the

sacrifice made by Australian and New Zealand

servicemen and women, not just during World War

One, but in all conflicts since that time....

I spent some of my day off,

making my Friendship Star banner...

for the "To Boston with Love" project...

                                                               To Boston With Love

and as a sign of friendship,

I took these scones, made my Mr PnP,

to my friends who had to work!

Happy sewing!

she can quilt

If you follow me on Instagram,

(yes, I caved!)

you will have seen these progress shots...

Would you like a cup of tea or coffee?

I could be a while- I am a long way from finishing

my "Ginger Kisses"!

(Although I could have started a new quilt!)

Happy days!

Bee Happy!

I thought you might like to see what I did

with these hexies from sometime back!

I based it on a pattern found @ Quilter's World....

I wasn't liking this green background

so I replaced it some Essex linen

and added borders....

drafted the words on Picmonkey

and took a screenshot....

stitched away.....

added a couple of bee buttons/charms....

Added a zip to the honeycomb backing...

And ended up with this!

May the lovely couple, Molly and Kyle, always

"bee happy"!

Happy days!

Motivation....

To Finish-A-Long!

Given my new mantra of 'slow sewing'....

she can quilt

there can only be one goal for the next few weeks....

to have this hand quilted and bound....

I might even have it finished for this...

AmysCreativeSide.com

Wish me luck....

I'd also like to finish these placemats,

as part of the Finish-A-Long!

Which, in fact, gives me TWO goals....

Two, pffff!

I can do it!

Linking up....as required!

Happy sewing...

WIPS Wednesday...

Just one project to share today.....

(because there hasn't been much progress on anything

else!)

I decided it was time to make use of this pretty, little

stack of fabric!

Add some linen and green stripes for binding,

I'm making some placemats.....

inspired by a tutorial here.

I'm off to find some backing in my stash!

What work do you have 'in progress' today?

Happy sewing....

As its Wednesday, I'm linking up here...

Sedately....

I am really enjoying my

 'slow sewing' campaign....

(My everyday job is stressful...

I do not want my hobby to be!)

In the last couple of days

I finished this bee block for Carla...

a little hand pieced 6" DP block.

And this simple iPad bag....

being modelled again by Helen....

after all, it is for her!

Happy 'slow' sewing!

Really Random Thursday....

While sewing has been slow, there have been some

fun times to be had.....

A brilliant Springsteen concert on Easter Sunday....

Trust me, that's Bruce!

followed by a night at a wonderful B and B....

and a little retail therapy...

This vintage print will hang in my

sewing room one day....

when I have a sewing room!

And even though there is not much sewing going on,

these fabrics were too good to pass up at

Darn Cheap,

Finally, this beautiful new book....

was a gift from my sister!

I am thinking about what I will make first, and having

fun, looking for fabric!

A great week, indeed!
