Bee Happy!

I thought you might like to see what I did

with these hexies from sometime back!

I based it on a pattern found @ Quilter's World....

I wasn't liking this green background

so I replaced it some Essex linen

and added borders....

drafted the words on Picmonkey

and took a screenshot....

stitched away.....

added a couple of bee buttons/charms....

Added a zip to the honeycomb backing...

And ended up with this!

May the lovely couple, Molly and Kyle, always

"bee happy"!

Happy days!

  2. The Essex Linen works much better than the green. Perfect backing fabric too! What a fun use for hexies.

  3. I really love this. It is just beautiful!I have started making hexies and have been wondering how I am going to put them together. After seeing your pillow, I got the idea of making a wall hanging based on your pillow. I think it would be lovely.
I agree-the linen looks better than the green.Have a great day!

  12. Molly and Kyle were over the moon when they opened this package! They are getting so excited and this was such a wonderfully cheerful surprise! You are the most dear person to think of them. It will look perfect on their bed with the wedding quilt. Your stitching and your piecing are beyond compare...seriously! And aren't you clever to use picmonkey to place your embroidery. I learn something new from you every day! Thank you again, Susan. YOU have made this special time even more special. I **heart** you!!!

  20. Seriously, this is one of the cutest pillows I have ever seen, Susan. And, I am figuring out that it is going to Mary's daughter and hubby-to-be, which makes it even more special. You are special!

  22. I love, love hexie's but at the same time am so intimidated by them. Your work is 'sew' inspiring to this fairly beginner quilter...I guess one day I will have to stop calling myself a beginner...
