I have my first finish for 2017....
This quilt was previously known as
"Boxes of Cotton and Steel"
but I wanted something simpler.
I chose some straight line quilt in just one
direction....
I am always frightened that once I head the other
way,
I will mess it all up!
The backing was an Ikea find on sale....
and one of my labels has been attached,
The quilt is roughly 48" square,
and looking for a new home.
Happy sewing!

Fabulous quilt, so great to have a finish this early, I'm the same as you I do the straight line quilt one way, a line down the middle, repeat ad nauseum, quite meditative. Fill in more lines if necessary.
ReplyDeleteIt's looks fab! A great finish to start the new year xx
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful - a really fun finish!
ReplyDeleteThis is so fun, Susan! Question about your label (because I love it): What pen do you use? I don't make many labels, but when I do I use a stabilizer and then a Sharpie fine point. But yours looks nicer. :) I'd love any tips...
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice start for the new year.
ReplyDeleteLooking good! I think any time we can get our quilts out of the box and get them finished is a good day. Glad this has made it to that stage. And the quilting looks great.
ReplyDeletePS: The dream-catcher (at the top of your page) is turning out so well, and I feel lucky that I was able to see a sneak peek of the quilting! It will really add to your top.
Lucky you to have a quilt finish already. The quilt turned out lovely and I hope you have a chance to enjoy it before it goes to a new home. As for me, I'm working on five different projects right now and hopefully will have the shower favors done soon so I can focus on finishing something. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteSuch a bright and fun quilt! I love the Cotton and Steel fabrics and have just started a quilt using the prints from my stash of "August".
ReplyDeleteWow. A completely gorgeous finish and a wonderful way to kick off a new year! No wonder I can't help but want all the Cotton + Steel fabrics with quilts like this to inspire. ;o)
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful Susan - so gorgeous fabrics.
ReplyDeleteJust lover-ly, Susan. Your quilting looks really nice with it. Seems like a nice lap-sized covering, perhaps for someone who needs some love?
ReplyDeleteThis is such a simple design but for these fabrics it is so effective. And so of course the straight line quilting works really well. This is a great first finish for the year.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful finish and a perfect size for a baby quilt. Save it for when you need a gift.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Perfect name too. I agree . . . save it for a gift.
ReplyDeleteLove it... Nice and bright.....
