I have updated this post with information about Wendy's patterns.

Workshop With Wendy Williams, that is!
I spent a fun day at "Cutting Cloth" admiring all
Wendy's lovely quilts....
This heart quilt is now available as a pattern here!
and learning a few stitches and tricks!
Pistil stitch, Whip stitch....
These were all made by Wendy! |
Reverse applique of pretty floral fabrics,
and colonial knots!
One of these, above,
and two of these are mine!
Look at those cute sheep!
as if I need another project!
Even the bathroom was inspiring!
How cool is this for a curtain?
Have you tried wool felt work and embroidery?
Happy sewing!

Lucky you Suz. I'm sure it was a great day. I don't know where Wendy gets her ideas from but they just keep flowing. I'm sure you'll make something lovely too.
ReplyDeleteSo much gorgeousness!! You know I love wool felt.
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a lot of inspiring fun.
ReplyDeleteTotal eye candy and I cannot tell the difference between yours and hersππππ
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a wonderful class! I so wish I had the chance to take part in it too... I loved this shop and told everyone about the lovely time we spent there and about all those wonderful quilts that were on display. I am so jealous!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteWow - so much colour. Looks like an awesome class to do. My sister and I are swapping felt pieces, with the aim to do a felt/embroidery project next year.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm so jealous of your time there in class, seeing those amazing quilts--how your head must have been filled to overflow with all of the beautiful things to see. I'm glad you had such a great time, and had the chance to have a class from her. Hope you told her hi from me! :) Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteWow so many awesome quilts, they truly are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, so pretty! There are some wonderful stitching ideas here, not something I've ever tried before, but am tempted!
ReplyDeleteI was lucky enough to have a w/e of sewing with Wendy here in Brisbane several months ago. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Wendy is a great teacher & has some beautiful quilts.

It looks like you had a wonderful day. Wendy does some amazing work and has so many great ideas. I wanted to make everything! I am still work on building up my collection of flowers. Good luck with your design.
ReplyDeleteSorry to say to you, but happily for me (as I don't want to add another thing to my wanna-do list), I don't have a whit of interest in working with wool or doing special embroidery stitches. I don't mean to offend. You're doing what you love, and that's what quilting is all about! Yay for you!
ReplyDeleteI love Wendy's work - so bright, colourful, cheerful and happy. I've done very little with wool but find it's a very forgiving fabric.
ReplyDeleteHappy quilts!
ReplyDeleteHappy quilts!
ReplyDeleteThis would be great glass! Lovely colorful works :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I'd been there - it looks great fun and so many beautiful things to inspire. Can't wait to see what you do!
ReplyDeleteI am even more excited about my WW class in October. I love the circular tree.
ReplyDeletePistil stitch and whip stitch? As long as it is not pistil whip stitch. :)
Those look like SOOOO much fun to make! Love the pop of colors and the whimsical feel.
ReplyDeleteIs there a pattern available for the beautiful heart quilt?
DeleteIs there a pattern for the heart quilt? LOVE IT! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteLove all the quilts do you sell a pattern for the heart quilt pat
ReplyDeleteI love all the quilts do you sell your heart pattern?
ReplyDeleteThese vibrant colors lift me up!
ReplyDeleteYour work is outstanding! I love (and appreciate) all the colors! I love scrappy quilts as well. You use so many mediums (fabrics, wool, felt, and various threads). You are definitely not afraid to get out of the box. I have truly been moved by your gorgeous heart quilt. I am in hopes you have the pattern for sale. We unexpectedly lost our son a year ago February, the day before our daughter’s wedding. It has been a long and continual healing process. I would love to make this quilt for our daughter as well as one for us. Is the pattern for sale and if so, how can I order? Laura Wilson from Harlingen, TX (956-245-2455).
ReplyDeleteHow can I buy the Wendy Williams heart quilt pattern?
ReplyDeleteI see that this was posted in 2016, what is happening now? I'm very interested in the felt circle embroidery. my email is bokasea@gmail.com
