✂︎✂︎✂︎ On A Whim...

This one has been finished for quite some time!

But has only these last few days made its first public

appearance....

Before the binding...

As the name suggests, I started this on a whim....

and entered it in the show....

on a whim!

I had long admired this quilt, on the cover of a

Quiltmania magazine.

I wish I changed a few things about this quilt,

but that's okay!

Poor lighting...

Sometimes its about the journey,

not the destination!

Happy sewing!

  1. So true Suz, the journey is often the more important part yet the result is a beautiful expression of your vision and concerted creativity.

  2. You'd never guess that this quilt was more about the journey than the destination. It is perfect for a peaceful bed quilt.

The journey is always the best part, I find. So much to discover and learn along the way!

  9. How delightful to see your entry into the show. Beautiful work and well done on being accepted to display your quilt at the show. Lovely fabrics and the baptist fan quilting looks great.

  10. Well, it looks like this whim turned into a win! You've done expert work on it, Susan, as I can see some precise piecing, and beautiful appliqué. Good for you to have started this, and even better that you finished! It's great that you entered a show and shared it with viewers. Do you have a place for it now? Or more shows to enter?

  12. I love it Suz, as soon as I saw the picture pop up on my reader this morning I clicked on it straight away. The Baptist fan quilting is perfect for it and the fabrics are so "you". I think we always want to change things once we have finished a quilt, but there is always next time :)

  17. Woohoo!!! That's the magazine with my quilt inside--how serendipitous that your really cool quilt made it to the quilt show from this issue. (I like whenever I can link us together in friendship somehow, even if I have to stretch it.) I love your quilt and love the picture of you beside it, hanging in the show. I think the quilter did a great job--wonderful! (And I love your new header.)
